"The Plough and Harrow is an absolutely lovely pub. We visited as a party of seven with three dogs and were seated at a table inside. Our drinks order was taken really quickly and when we had an issue with one of the drinks they immediately remedied it. We ordered four Franco chicken burgers, one fish and chips and two beef burgers. The food came really quickly and was absolutely delicious. The chicken burgers were a whole chicken breast that had been lightly battered, with a delicious homemade slaw and the chips were divine. The beef burger was similarly really nice and had loads of fresh salad in it. Just wished the chip portion was a bit bigger. When the child's beef burger came the kids meal had more chips than the adults meal did, as they put them in little metal pots for the adults meals. The inside of the pub is lovely it has loads of fairy lights and old fashioned swirly light bulbs. The staff members were really helpful. There were lots of menus around so we didn't have to share and the whole pub itself looked really clean. The toilets were also clean. That was a good range of seating inside as well as outside in the beer garden and further down past the car park there's also an additional garden with seating. The Plough and Harrow is obviously very popular as it was very busy and we went. I can see why, we had a lovely meal and we'll definitely be going back."

"Previously, I had such a bad call that I always sat down on the chasers I saw that the back garden had been done and when we saw how many people and cars there were, we decided to stop. we were met by amazing friendly staff who knew what the customer service was about. we were informed about how long our food will be. coworkers talking joking with joe public in any case recommend back"

"We walked into the George totally drenched, muddy and dripping wet during a walking weekend. The team at the George (Frances, Ellie and Debbie) could not have been more welcoming. Food and drink was superb as we dried out beside the wood fire. Unbelievably they even offered to post back some excess gear we were complaining about carrying with us. Above and beyond, what a great pub run by staff who really care. Service: 5 Location: 5"

"The service was great and the staff were lovely. They provided helpful advice on how to get back using both walking and public transportation. The breakfast was excellent and beautifully presented. I appreciated that the restaurant is dog-friendly and will bring my pup with me next time, as he was waiting in the truck while I enjoyed my meal. Thank you."

"I initially loved this place, but after years of being a customer, the owner refused to honor a voucher given to me as a wedding present before the national lockdown. When I tried to discuss this, the owner responded with unprofessional, sarcastic, and antagonistic language. While I understand that 2020 has been difficult for the hospitality industry, it has also been tough for consumers. By not honoring the voucher, they have lost my business and potential future income from me. The owner challenged me for not using the voucher during their takeaway service in lockdown, not realizing that I was trying to minimize unnecessary contact due to caring for vulnerable individuals. I have always had great experiences at The Giant's Rest, whether it be Christmas Day dinner, family gatherings, or relaxing Sunday afternoons after a walk with my dog. However, I am extremely disappointed in the owner's behavior today and will not be returning or recommending this place in the future."
