"We walked into the George totally drenched, muddy and dripping wet during a walking weekend. The team at the George (Frances, Ellie and Debbie) could not have been more welcoming. Food and drink was superb as we dried out beside the wood fire. Unbelievably they even offered to post back some excess gear we were complaining about carrying with us. We attended for a wedding. The place is beautiful and surprisingly spacious. We had a really good time and the staff were excellent.

Super cosy old pub with great food! We had an amazing evening eating and drinking at this pub. The food was delicious and had really good vegan/vegeterian options. The staff was super friendly and the environment is just so nice!

my wife and I did this after a long day walking on the south downs way. the staff was welcoming, eating was great, and the ales were excellent delicious. we had also been happy to try the banoffee pie for dessert, which we are happy to try now that we are home from our vacation. a great night.

We were camping and hiking in the area and came here twice in one day! The garden was great to have lunch in after a long walk and the roast dinner was one of the best I have ever had from a pub The place has a lovely old English, cosy look and feel to it and we really appreciated how dog friendly they are we'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.
