Red Lion - Carta

Really enjoyed our family lunch at the red lion today. The pub staff were fabulous and the food was brilliant. Surprisingly great Thai food!

Hadn’t been to the Red Lion for a while and so pleased I went this weekend. They had a great band on and a rocking atmosphere. Helped by the managers choice of music. Might be sad to say but best night out in a while!...The Thai green curry was good too. Staff were pleasant as always.

Run by the experienced Dave Borley, this is a grand pub to visit with fine outdoor seating (with TV and heaters). High quality Thai food is available and there's plenty of car parking. Beer standards are high. The staff are friendly and efficient ..and have great abilities to remember what drink you had the last time! Ver carta

Ventured out to the Red Lion for the first time in ages and decided to eat on the spur of the moment because we were starving. Absolutely stunning Thai meal. Best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand! We had Tom Yum prawn soup,...pork prawn dumplings, sizzling tamarind duck, drunken chicken noodles and coconut rice. Cannot recommend the food highly enough. No wonder we had to wait for a table. Unfortunately, the pics don’t do the food justice, as I had already eaten much of it before I took the pics...

I have been searching for a pub in the area to accommodate a get together for our anniversary in July. After trying many pubs/bars and getting no reply or no answer I was surprised and very lucky when someone answered the phone! Lovely guy, very...helpful, answered and booked in people, not a million questions, no problem and told me he would try and get the rugby on (a must for some of our guests) After a few hours of searching it was a great relief to finally get a friendly confirmation at a highly rated place! Booked a table for the footie a month ago for people, they put us on one of the worst seats in the house and it only sat four people. When I questioned this the staff member told us to sit on each others laps...and he wasnt joking! His name was Dave and he was rude, arrogant, an absolute piece of work. He also told me to go I had to leave because I didnt have a mask which is fair enough but he did it very rudely, I got a mask. What annoyed me was the fact that everyone else in the pub was walking around without a mask on. He also told me he didnt have any spare masks but I saw the same guy give masks to more than person.

We were very lucky when we visited the Red Lion as our booking for another pub had disappeared' and we were unsure we would be able to get in anywhere else. Fate smiled as someone had not turned up timing is all! The staff...there and the owner in particular couldn't have been more welcoming. Wine selection is very good (I am a fan of Picpoul and it is by the glass there and the food (Malee Thai) is yummy. Recommend the red curry just delicious. Music was a real throwback to the and we were extremely happy. We will be using the takeaway service and will be back as soon as lockdown finishes! Thank you Red Lion and Malee Thai

Booked this restaurant as very near my disabled daughter's supported living. Web site led us to believe that it did English and Thai food. We asked about disabled access as my daughter in a wheelchair. Was told there were steps but there were people there...to help us up and down them. When we got there we managed the step ok and were offered a choice of tables. Everything fine until we were told English food not available in the evening, only Thai but they would do us some chips. We ordered some drinks which were brought to the table. Then the man from the Thai restaurant came and took our order. We asked for a jug of water to go with the food and this is when the attitude changed. The pub... Ver carta
