"This restaurant is staffed by very polite and friendly servers, who speak English. It is located on a pedestrian street so parking would have to be elsewhere. If you sit outside, there is lots of action watching the passersby. The interiors are very nicely decorated. We had the set menu (CHF 42. /person) which included appetizers, different kinds of naan bread (which you can reorder as needed), four set main dishes, and one galub jamun. The total quantity was actually too much for all of us and we would instead recommend ordering individual dishes and then sharing them if you like trying different things. Particularly good were the shrimp in a sweet sauce and the tikki salmon. There was a long wait between the appetizers and the main course, and the food in the main course could have been served hotter."

"Leckeres Essen, gemütliche Atmosphäre, schönes Ambiente. Man kann drinnen und draussen sitzen. Die Bedienung ist freundlich. Die Teller und Gerichte sind stilvoll. Man kann die Gerichte teils selbst mit diversen Zutaten individualisieren. Kann ich weiter empfehlen."

"We had a sashimi and a tuna steak which were both incredibly delicious. They were served very Japanese style, with 6 small sides. Daikon (Chinese radish), legumes, a very interesting, savoury flan with topped with a sauce of black sesame and a small bowl of glass noodles(I think). We just had the main course and it was more than enough for us. (As reference, we eat about half of the standard western portions). When we arrived around 7, it was empty but around 8, it filled up quickly. They also had. A selection of 50 unique whiskeys which we sampled a bit from."

"This nicely renovated hotel has a lovely restaurant spacious, wooden floor, with a lovely view to the nearby Lac de Neuchatel. The menus were unfortunately only in French but the waiter gave us an idea of the words we didn't know. Reasonable choice of...starters, mains and desserts, with local produce (fish and meats) represented. For the main course the boar (le sanglier) was delicious extremely tender and in a delicious plum sauce and accompanied by spiced plums and polenta. Steak tartare was also great. So based on those two items I'd imagine the rest of the items on the menu were similarly good. Service was prompt. Wine list was reasonable but not extensive. The kitchens close at 9.30pm beware! The price was OK for Switzerland i.e. more expensive than UK, but it was worth paying for!"

"It's always a pleasure to eat at the Buffet du Funicular! For more than 25 years, the welcome has not changed nor the quality of what we eat. The bosses are warm and sometimes teasing with us, which brings a family feel while maintaining great professionalism in their actions. Always concerned about the comfort of their customers, they ensure that everything goes well throughout the meal! Never in all these years have I been disappointed with what I have eaten, whether it was meat, fish or dessert! A big thank you and congratulations to the bosses for your kindness and perseverance!"
