"I visited with my wife and grown daughter on week night. I had to hang mine and the ladies themselves by avoiding waitresses that sneak past, so I knew from the beginning that this would not be a gourmet temple! the ladies began with mixed salads that were fresh but very common. my crooks with salat were pretty good. my leading role was a hard table lace with a gland sauce and overcooked kartoffels. my wife reported that her venison was properly cooked, but boring, with little in the kind of garnishment. my daughter created good tortellini and she was satisfied with them. her cream brulee dessert was also in order (no dessert for my wife and i.) we drank mineral water and a beer for me with two coffees, and the bill came to a very reasonable euro 95. the service was not bad, although they were not able to bring all our main dishes at the same time, and the next dishes also arrived late. the restaurant is large, but divided into different areas, so that noise levels are acceptable. portions were on the large size, but not exaggerated."

were there on a wednesday. good view on a plesant countryside. good food (too big portions) decent wine. good service (a bit slow). average age of the guests there 60 upwards

the elke had long set a large menu with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. because the demand was not so large and the choice was not so good with the guests, the card was kept somewhat tighter again. Even if no vegan foods are on the map, many dishes can be cooked vegan. easy to ask taste is the elke super and the lookout is also mega.

I took my Brazilian friends in this restaurant based on some reviews in tripadvisor and I can confirm that it was an excellent choice. Unfortunately, it was a bit neblig and we could not enjoy the view, yet everything else was very good. we came. at 9.15 a.m. and we were not sure if we were able to get a place (restaurant closes at 9.30 a.m.) they were very friendly. service and eat very well. I would like to return there on a sunny day with my family:

Located in the village of Obereichsel, the Café Elke is a very popular restaurant with a large terrace overlooking a lovely valley. We had both lunch and dinner there and found the quality very good. Service at lunch was a little brisk, perhaps we had...caught the owner on a bad day, but other staff were charming and helpful. I got the impression that there were tables with great views for regulars and that passing trade was relegated to the lesser tables....hmmmm.

restaurant elke is approx. 20 minutes by car from basel and approx. 5 minutes from rheinfelden. it lies on a hill and offers a beautiful view over the hills. the menu gives a large selection of meat, fish and vegetarian. we had different salads,...flowers and frying, followed by dessert. all very tasty, and served by friendly and efficient waiters. the prices are very attractive to the Swiss. a good choice for lunch/night. Please check the opening hours before they leave.

Visited Restaurant Elke while enroute to Zurich to catch our flight back home and glad we did. The restaurant is located in the hills above Rheinfelden and has a very nice view of the surrounding area. While the meal wasn't cheap, it also wasn't overly expensive considering the location. My wife had a large specialty salad (Blattsalate) for 9 Euro. I had the 3 course lunch menu of Char fish for 28.50 Euro that came with a nice mixed salad and dessert. for drinks, I had a .5l dark wheat beer for only 3.10 Euro and my wife had a tasty glass of Riesling for only 2.10 Euro.
