"Being stuck at this hotel due to a missed flight connection, I had a quick lunch in the Restaurant of the Bayerische Hof in Freising. They serve a lunch for 11.50 euro, with a soup, a salad, a main dish and a dessert. One thing I can say is that they are really, but really fast. If you are on a relax time, it’s better to tell them, otherwise the plats go, and the next one comes. But the food was great. I had a really nice consommé (clear soup), which was very tasteful. Then the salad… well, a salad is a salad, nothing much to say... not much can go wrong with that (if fresh). It was a simple oil and vinegar dressing, but good. The main dish was a 2 slices of meat, prepared in a the local beer sauce. Really good, very tasteful ! For dessert, I was served some apple slices, dipped in batter and fried. Topped with some ice cream. Very good too. Conclusion: I had a great meal for 11.50 euro. The weather was nice, and I sat outside in their courtyard. Really enjoyable… perfect food… they just had to slow down a bit to make it perfect all the way."

Fresh local ingredients coupled with good service and the option of dining "al fresco" in the hotel's courtyard made for a very pleasant evening.

We enjoyed a first class breakfast and dinner in this popular hotel restaurant. Be sure to make reservations for dinner. The food was delicious and done to perfection.

We had the lunch 'menu' in the lovely courtyard. Prompt, friendly service. Nicely prepared food. Good presentation in a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere. I thought it was a perfect spot for a pleasant and satisfying midday meal.

We stayed in this hotel and it was quite convenient to also eat here. They had a lot of game meat. Their wine selection was good. The mushroom ravioli was tasty. They have another hotel and restaurant in Munich but this one in Freising was great.

I had lunch at the Bayerischen Hof when I visited Freising for business. The restaurant was quite busy, and it became clearly evident why. The food was excellent!I had pork with spaetzle. It was abundant and amazing. I couldn't even finish it all. This is a place I would recommend and visit again gladly when I come to Freising again.

As we had visited the local pub for several beers, we decided to have dinner here. It proved to be a good choice as we also received two small carafes of very good wine as guests of the hotel. We both had salads and shared a well prepared steak dinner. It was cooked to perfection. We were both very satisfied with the food and the service.

Booked upon arrival of our stay in the hotel. We dined outside in the pretty little courtyard and the service was extremely attentive. The menu had lots to offer and the food was simply perfect! We both had the goats cheese salad to start which reminded me of how much I love goats cheese. My filet steak was cooked to perfection and plentiful leaving me struggling to finish! My husbands schnitzel went down a treat too! A must when staying in the hotel or even the area!

We had breakfast here this morning before we checked out. The hosts were both very nice and the food was delicious and fresh. The coffee required several cups to completely savior the deep rich tones of the freshly ground beans. After breakfast we walked outside only to be greeted by a farmers market full of just about anything you can imagine. This is the part of the trip that makes you want to come back. Strolling amongst the spices and vegetables plus the meats and fruits with all of their aroma was magical!

We enjoyed a most enjoyable dinner of pork loin with mushroom risotto which was prepared to perfection. The restaurant was beautifully appointed and the service was superior. We returned to the restaurant for the breakfast buffet and were not disappointed. We enjoyed a selection of breakfast breads and pastries, butter, jams, jellies, honey, cold sliced meats and cheeses, yoghurt, fruit choices, freshly sliced vegetables, cereals, eggs and bacon. Juice, water, coffee and tea were offered as beverages. It was all delicious.

"Having read some positive reviews on Kathi’s, we decided to go. Upon arrival we were advised the restaurant was full and the only table available was within a small overflow area. Before taking in the surroundings, we accepted and sat down. We quickly realised the...area we were sat was the entrance to two shops and a bar?!! The shop windows were in need of a wash and the ambience was non existent. I absolutely adore steak and often cook in my own kitchen, I was really keen to try the special Bavarian steak. I’m a little confused as to why you would come to Bavaria and order meat from another country? There was many selections from other countries available. I should note that with a price tag of €39, my expectations were high. My husband ordered the burger. Our food arrived and cutting into my steak, it became obvious the meat was not cooked as ordered, I requested “medium”...the meat had not been rested either meaning the meat juices and blood were on my plate. I requested the waiter return to the kitchen for further cooking. Once my steak arrived back, it was cooked to my preference however still oozing meat juices on the plate. At home, my steak is rested for a minimum of 5 minutes to avoid this. The meat was nice and so too were the accompaniments, my husband reports his burger was tasteless and laden with various sauces, causing it to collapse with moisture. All in all, we would not return. A restaurant focusing on serving steak should have chefs who know how to successfully cook (and rest) this expensive cut of meat."
