"This review is for the ground floor restaurant (I believe the hotel has recently opened one on their top floor but this review is for the ground floor restaurant Started off very promisingly, we arrived early and the very helpful hotel reception staff suggested we have a pre-dinner drink in the bar. The service in the bar was also friendly and excellent. The hotel was an interesting design, being a converted water tower. In fact at this point we were wondering about staying in the hotel were we to visit Cologne again. Went through to the restaurant which was again beautifully designed. Large glass walls, beautifully light even in the rain and lots of greenery immediately outside giving the room a lovely tranquil atmosphere. The place was very quiet but it was Monday evening. We were the first table in and only 3 other tables arrived during the course of the evening. Our starters were fine. My smoked salmon and potato cakes with apple sauce was tasty, I didn't think the apple sauce worked with the rest of the dish but that could be down to personal taste. My husband had the ham terrine with mixed green legumes and pea puree which was also fine. We both picked the Wiener Schnitzel for main as we found the menu choices fairly restricted. Unfortunately we have had this dish often in Germany and we found this to be not of the best. The veal seemed gristly in parts. Service slowed down as the other 3 tables arrived. Our wine had been placed in a wine bucket away from our table, standard practice in many restaurants and fine so long as the restaurant staff are aware when you need your glasses topped up. Sadly this was not the case here and we had to get up from the table and go and get the wine ourselves on more than one occasion. When the bill arrived it was apparent that a mistake had been made. When we questioned it, the situation was quickly rectified – we had been charged for 2 bottles rather than the 2 glasses of sparkling wine we had with our starters. This made a substantial difference to the bill, almost doubling it and it was hard to see how such an error had been made in such an empty restaurant. We left feeling disappointed and a bit let down. Overall the restaurant looked lovely but was let down by very average food and very average staff. What a pity !"

Located in a nice hotel, nice location....but the restaurant at the ground floor not really the cherry on the cake. Slow service....40 mins for a rare beef fillet...no one asking anything...go somewhere else.

Das Gourmetmenü an sich war schon ausgesprochen schmackhaft, besonders hervorzuheben ist die begleitende Weinreise, die sehr treffsicher ausgesucht wurde. Fröhlicher Service und angenehmes Ambiente. Gerne wieder!

Had lunch here with a client and enjoyed it. We needed somewhere quiet to talk & while the restaurant was busy we were able to converse well and discuss what was needed. Service was discreet. We both had the steak main course followed by fruit dessert, no alcohol.Would recommend, good value also.

De servere lækket mad, og man sidder godt.Vi ventede tæt på en time, første gang vi spiste der, før vi fik den første ret serveret. Musikken i baggrunden, spillede kun nogle gange, så hørte man et nummer, og nogle gange et halvt, og nogle gange slet ikke noget. Det virkede ikke så godt.Sød og høflig betjening.

Vorspeise war gut (Ziegenkäse und Salat), Hauptspeisen gingen gar nicht (Dorade war lauwarm und Steak war war rare anstatt Medium, vermutlich schlechtes Küchentiming), Nachtisch war ok ( kostenlos, wegen schlechtem Hauptgang), Service war bemüht und angestrengt freundlich, aber nicht zuvorkommend, teilweise ungeschickt und bei der Kartenberatung nicht auf der Höhe. Preis dann in Summe zu hoch. Denke ganz gut für die Hotelgäste mit Lust auf einen Burger.

We returned to the Wasserturm hotel in Cologne to celebrate my wife's birthday and enjoy their summer Sunday brunch. The weather was beautiful and the K restaurant is a very pleasant dining room. Half the guests were sitting outside on the terrance, we chose to take a great table in the main dining area. First, I would like to praise the high quality of the staff who worked with us througout the brunch. From start to finish the team worked extremely hard and well together. Outstanding service should be the norm, but it was very noticable at the Wasserturm Brunch how good this service team was today. The brunch is value for money, other hotels around Cologne do offer a wider selection of food...
