"we are more often in hamburg to look fussball. the la sepia is very well on the way, now we were not there for almost 1/2 year and we were very surprised yesterday. the prices increased significantly and the proportions reduced. so you can earn double " my originally ordered fish pan became a fish plate with 3 small pieces fish, really every tiny. 3 kartoffels and a little sweet. salat there was beforehand and of course the delicious green majo. Otherwise, I would have gone hungry. Sorry, let's say that's different. in future it will no longer be our first starting point."

there are many reasons to visit the la sepia. Here is freshly cooked, excellently prepared and presented appealingly. Moreover, the team is personal, friendly and cordial. but the most convincing argument for a visit in the la sepia: the super atmosphere. Thank you! Ver carta

We were recommended by the locals, and we gave it a try for our last dinner in Hamburg during this stay. We were hungry and there was a short queue in front of us. We waited about 10 minutes to get seated and another 30 minutes to get our food served. The seafood plate was very tasty and with big variety. It's a very busy restaurant so people need to be patient or simply reserve a table in advance. Overall, it's an enjoyable dinning experience.

we were here for lunch. the selection on the midday ticket was not easy for us, equal to several typical fish dishes for selection. we then decided to fish pan and seafood paste. both tasted very good and was very plentiful. to both, there was a mixed salad and brot with delicious ajoli. the service was very friendly. we liked the seating, rustic and simple, but cozy. Sitting outside is also possible. we like to conclude again, cheaper very good lunch table. we also found the selection on the normal map. that would also be an opportunity for dinner.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
