"kulinarisch a real highlight. all freshly prepared, homemade jam to breakfast, a pastry mill for breakfast, really great. the restaurant is a highlight: the young chef uses fresh ingredients - if possible from the region - and interprets the thursian cuisine new and peppery. has a bit of star kitchen. the service is also excellent, all always friendly and helpful. what you want more.The rooms are clean and large, however from the bathroom apart somewhat old-fashioned furnishings. but that doesn't bother at all, given all the other great things."

"on our holiday we were looking for forest waste almost daily. Unfortunately, this is somewhat hidden, but a snake at the door has recognized us that something special seems to be. So we got a table together. After some time we were politely assigned to a table, unfortunately in beautiful weather in the guest room. A Bob from the GDR tasted the blanket and we were home. It was pretty crowded all day, but our food was always quite fast on the table and super great. I ate the Thüringer Roullade several times, which is a sudder shot. The food makes not only the stomach happy, but also the eyes. We're trying to get another table. Unfortunately, the Waldschrat closed tomorrow and unfortunately we have to go home on Friday. We keep the forest scrap in good memory and come back safely"

"Da Salvatore is authentic Italian. you can see and taste that the crusts and and pasta are hand made. It might seem odd to come to Germany and eat Italian but sometimes you need a break from the currywurst. Also we had a vegetariam in...our party so find tasty options for him was easy at Da Salvatore. We were in Oberhof for nordic ski training so we want some good substantial fuel to prepare us for the next training session. Da Salvatore pizza and pasta was fresh, satisfy but not heavy. All the ingrediants were freshly prepared and the menu was huge. There was something for all tastes and we liked it so much we ate there twice and pasta was a good as the pizza. The oweners and chef are Italian and it really shows in the authetic cooking"

Bratwurst mit Kart. für 10,90 ...ich bestellte Wiener schnitzel mit Pommes für 18,80 ..die freundliche Bedienung bot statt Pommes Thür.Klöse an ...ja ok... ...meine bitte .: die soße nicht über s Schnitzel.giessen....die bedienung. klaro kein Problem...brig ich in einer extra Schale....alles schön und gut.....kein Wort über dafür das extra preis Extrapreise.. kostet....dann die Rechnung ...der Hammer: Soße extra 2,50...Klöße etra 2,80...dann noch der Hammer dafür Gebühren divers Speisen ???? 2,50... alles in allen 7.80 mehr ..ich hätte auch Pommes gegessen die waren ja im preis drin....sorry das ist HAMMERABZOCKE hier muss man Vorsicht walten"

"well, who likes it, but... for eating, there is no recommendation from all of us. the thüringer hütte is located directly on the crest of the rennsteig on 814 m above sea level, on the border and in the immediate vicinity to the biathlon stadium aboveerhof (dkb ski arena,) with its bob and sleigh, etc. the out-air guesthouse in the style of a rustic blockhouse, is not exactly small and has 50 places in the main room. 100 seats on the terrace; according to the operator one of the most beautiful beer gardens in the region. according to own advertising, the operator wants to pamper his guests with the delicious thüringer kitchen. only the tasty thüringer specialties, we found at the beginning of our visit oktober, unfortunately not. we were on a ca. 14 km long hike from the “New Excitement” at tambach direction border eagle on the historic commute road, a small piece on the 169 km long rennnsteig, the most famous hiking trail in Germany and are recommended to a late lunch, returned to the gasthof thüringer hütte. we had chosen, ordered and also reserved seats, because we were on the way as a group. Unfortunately we were here, in the hospitable thüringer hütte we were really disappointed. since we were in thunder, we have, of course, ordered two thüringer specialties. I had ordered “Thüringer Rostbratsl” (was very greasy) with bratkartoffeln and salatbelage, for €7.50 and my wife had been on a so-called real “Thüringer Bratwurst” with bratkartoffeln and salatbeach for €7.00. the thüringer Rostbratsl” is a marinated disc from the vernacular, which is next to the thüringer rostbratwurst, the second grilled speciality of the country. the food was unfortunately only, an under average snack / canteen meal, it was not really warm (was probably kept warm over hours,) was overwürzted and simply did not taste us. as it is known that the eye with eats, the dishes were not presented appetizingly. both courts weren't expensive, but what we were here, as so-called speciality, was simply not worth his money. also the highlight in the flyer, the homemade torts, did not convince us (also visually not). we have particularly annoyed because we only left the thüringer hütte, directly next to a grill hut, where was grilled over a wood charcoal grill, a really real delicious thüringer bratwurst for 2.50. of course we could not resist and, in addition to our lunches, have given us a bratwurst. from the taste, this was not approximated with the bratwurst in the thüringer hütte. And this grill hut, is therefore quite clear our recommendation for the small hunger between and also for those who want to taste an original thüringer bratwurst from the charcoal grill. also it is not easy for us to understand why this tasty bratwurst from the wood charcoal grill is not also served in the gasthof, since the grill station belongs to the thüringer hütte and is only a few meters away. for us is the gasthof thüringer hütte, the only restaurant on the border eagle, clearly oriented to the mass operation and therefore only conditionally suitable for a good eating in a rustic comfortable atmosphere. this is also evident from the fact that there is only self-service at different theks. Therefore we can not recommend the gasthof thüringer hütte at all fairness. also not if you can eat here especially inexpensively to satisfy his hunger. but in order to silence its thirst, after e.g. a walk, it is o.k. and here an interesting and complementary note about the w. g. thüringer bratwurst: the rennsteig in the volksmund he is also referred to as a caraway equator, because north of the rennnsteig comes cuminously to the bratwurst and here on the sun. a small but finer difference, which one will taste when enjoying a real thüringer bratwurst! guaranteed!"
