Lovely setting right next to the castle, delicious and beautifully presented dishes and very friendly and welcoming serving staff. We would highly recommend the salmon fillet and schnitzel and are already looking forward to our next meal at this great little restaurant.

Nice little restaurant opposite the castle. The food was great, all on the point, broccoli creak green and not bright, roast potatoes not too dark, Calvadosjus with neat rage and everything incl. Plate reasonably hot. The dessert is also very good and beautifully dressed.The We had to wait a long fraction I recommend to go to McDonalds, so it is fixed. The old guard is highly recommended to all others.

Viajamos con amigos a Ludwigslust y decidimos comer a poca distancia de nuestro hotel. Reservamos una mesa en Alte Wache porque se veía bien, tenía vista al castillo y el menú parecía prometedor. Viajamos mucho por Alemania y ... no es por la cocina alemana. Pero nos sorprendió gratamente. La carne estaba tierna, las ensaladas crujientes y frescas sin cosas en escabeche y las verduras aún tenían picadura. Teníamos el lammhaxe y el schnitzel de ternera. La lista de vinos estaba bien. Hacía buen tiempo y podíamos sentarnos al aire libre en su acogedor beergarten. Pero el interior también es genial. After a long time we wanted to visit Lulu Castle Park again. At noon we had planned in the Altegarde. But at the entrance we were stopped by a service. Booked and not for 2 persons. All right! We had no answer to our question of alternatives in the environment. Another question led more to the fact that the power of service was defeated than if we wanted to know impossible. Fortunately, we found a very nice castle café in Lulu Castle just a few meters away, where we were very friendly at the time. In addition, the old fire brigade was also nearby. Also a restaurant. You can only thank for so much service-friendship. You don't see us here again and you can't expect a question.

After we were not allowed to enter MeckPom this year in May due to corona, it was finally ready. At the later noon we arrived in Ludwigslust and decided to take a break. We were not very hungry, because on the way there were already fillets with self-baked bread. The Alte Wache was the first possibility to return, located directly at the Ludwigslust Castle. On the way to the castle and to the guard (close to the left behind the trees in 1853 as a guard and arrest place, it was at least architecturally a beautiful work place and also an arrest cell as a locality can probably not withstand today's architecture (but I have no experiences here).
