"We stumbled on this little gem whilst walking through Essen looking for lunch. Traveling with my partner who only eats chicken and our friend who is a vegetarian can be quite challenging, but lucky for us we walking into Restoran Ponistra, which was a vegetarian restaurant of number 1 quality. We walked into this small 3 person run restaurant to the stares and laughter of the locals and as per the norm in Germany the menu wasnt available in english! This is a major issue in Germany. We sat only to have the big haired hostess showing us the daily menu and saying how was she going to communicate with us, only to have another patron say that she spoke english and would translate for us! Such a life saver. We had one of the most delicious meals whilst in Germany. We ordered salmon with vege and vegetarian lasagna with salad! Our translator said the restaurant was strictly vegetarian and cooked fish once a week, all food was organic and made from scratch! We were very impressed to say the least. We paid 10 euro each for a fabulous meal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant."

For the 3rd time here for dinner. I've never tried anything better! Excellent! Culinary fireworks! Milka is a great hostess. The atmosphere is like home. Reservation is recommended!

Regional, seasonal and also partly organic. Everything, but really everything is super tasty and fresh. At noon it is very full, in any case reserve. Price performance unbeatable, for us the best restaurant in Essen!!!

Kleines fam. Geführtes gemütliches Restaurant total reale Speisen und weine . Alles frisch und jede Woche wechselnd . Was für eine Wohltat im Zeitalter der sytemgastro. Ungewöhnlich große Weinkarte für dies Preisklasse. Sehr gerne wieder!

For my part, I can say, as long as we haven't had enough time! It was every time a success in my mouth. I can only recommend the restaurant! The staff worked hard, clean and friendly. My sisters and I have the inn suitable for all occasions — irrelevant whether with colleagues, friends or family.

Decoration on tables and throughout the restaurant is reasonable and stylish. The bathroom is always clean and everything in everything, the restaurant gives a good impression. It is my pleasure to come here with my business partners and rely on me to be served decently. I found the offer very appealing. The measurement of these large cooking rooms, on the map is usually something for everyone.

We went to the restaurant on our second night with a group of colleagues and we were truly impressed with the meals. All ingredients used are organic and most things are home-made, such as the juices/lemonades. It was really amazing.The hostess/owner was a really nice lady who answered all our questions without a problem. I was especially impressed with the quality of the meat. I would definitively recommend this place and go there again next time I'm in Essen.
