"came here yesterday! what a beautiful place it is. the decor is so beautiful and the eating was amazing! the sticky toffee pudding with baileys ice cream was one of the best I ever had! only feedback would be that no one checked on us to see how our starters and net were and the other is the portion sizes are huge! not that my partner was complained. we will definitely recommend and return"

"Popped by, stopped off Saturday night in our camper van. We were made to feel very welcome, Pickles the Frenchie is lovely, our Schichon took a while to warm to her, but she is lovey. I had the Faggots, my wife has the dirty fries, both were a decent, hearty meal, well cooked, proper wholesome pub food. We only had a couple of drinks as we'd had a long week were asleep by 8:30pm! Will return. Food: 5"

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."

"We often head out into Somerset from our home in Axbridge, to visit Gardens open for charity, and try to find somewhere nice for lunch or beer in a pub garden, but, as Vegans and non drinking, often end up disappointed. We usually head for somewhere that sounds local and lovely but have to leave because the only Vegan choice on the menu isn't on on,or they don't have any of that fancy alcohol free nonsense. Thank heavens then for a genuine country pub, that still has that magical feel of still being a proper pub but serving lovely homestyle food. We felt very welcome and were amazed to see a menu with Vegan options given equal space on the menu, even on a Sunday! They have three main meals, a choice of three desserts on Sunday and Guinness and Becks blue zero on the bar. We had a Mediterranean veg tart, with roast potatoes, lots of lovely veg and gravy too! For Dessert we had warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream, just to make it a special occasion! The staff were wonderful, welcoming, genuinely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, Vegan or not!"

"Where to start. From what I can understand from reviews and speaking to the locals they don't visit here any more and I can see why. Lets start with the dangerous, they have a large trampoline on the grass area which has no safety netting or barrier and its not sunk into the ground. Also has some holes in it. This is a broken bone with kids (or even drunk adults) just waiting to happen. Trying to keep the kids off it is a nightmare. There is also a ropy swing (ropy in both senses of the word) hanging from a tree. I'd say safe(ish) but for less weighty occupants. Now the food. Edible but sub standard. Looking at the burger menu and when it arrived I did initially think it looked good . However just no flavour. Had a chicken burger when came in thick batter and zero seasoning so just tasted like a batter burger. Chips also nice and think but oily inside. I'm not a fan of a McD's but I would rather have had that than this. Now the Rude. Never in all my years have I come across such poor customer service. Swearing behind the bar and when trying to raise an issue I'm greeted with hostility, swearing and rude behaviour. I won't go in to the detail online as I tried to raise it with them directly the right way... however fell on deaf ears. I would say if your reading this in June 2023 or beyond then try the place out! as the current owners/managers will have gone out of business by then. Hopefully someone with even an ounce of customer service will be running it. Try to end on a positive... The drink was nice...!"
