"service disaster, you ask if the wings are marinated; Answer yes it is on that. In truth there is a sauce on top, the dose is not too strong. Then we ask about the Hamburgee bluecheese, how strong the sauce is, the answer is that it is a sauce. The bluecheese hambuger only tastes like bluecheese, it takes courage to know the sauce, it only seems to be cheese and we're done. The burrito is more of a wrap, has no Mexican taste, the beans are raw and cold!! I've never seen it before, so when we asked the waitress about it, she got snippy and said she had answered, unfortunately the waiter doesn't seem to understand German well, because her answers contradicted the facts, and it was definitely not worth the 70 chf. No insight or attempt to come towards us. Only a waiter named Andrej noticed that we were unhappy and apologized on behalf of the restaurant, but other than Andrej I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The kitchen is improvised, the recipes still need to be coordinated/improved and the waiters need to be more understanding, if they don't do their job well you can't snap at the customer or blame them, so you won't come back."

"our dinner started with a small discussion with the waitress, as he did not want to serve us a jar of water, for the children, forcing us to ask for bottled water. In the end, we were charged with the water jug, something that was surprising to us in Swiss. but once the initial moment passed, the dinner was nice, taking the burger of the house, which prepare with cucumber, lettuce, tomato and cheese."

"This is a must if you like good cocktails, snacks and lake views! I cannot recommend this place enough. Small menu that is perfect for snacks or a small meal. Have been here many times during the summer. Staff are very friendly and speak several languages. Paddle boarded over from Thun to here a few times and it is a great pit stop for tasty food."

"i feel compelled to post my first review after i dropped by McArthur's today upon seeing that they have a special offer on coffee and cake, little realising the treat i was in for. There's a spacious beer garden and when i entered the interior...is immediately striking as relatively light and colorful, spacious with cosy corners, and tastefully decorated in a fusion of unstuffy traditional and modern. The atmosphere is pleasant and easy going, friendly barman Tony quickly offered me the infamous scottish speciality of deep fried mars bar in batter as an alternative option to cake. This was promptly served with refreshingly contrasting ice cream on a plate beautifully decorated with chocolate sauce, and all that, with coffee, for a measly 7CHF. McArthur's has obviously been conceived with attention to detail in every aspect and is pristinely maintained, suitable for families until late evening and a nice alternative to unwind after work to enjoy a well earned quality irish or local craft beer or three with an extensive menu of moderately priced home cooked British Isles specialities, so it would make for an impressive budget date too. i look forward to returning with friends soon to try their homemade fresh fish'n'chips and will keep you posted.."

"Wir (9 Personen) haben am Sonntagabend das wunderschön gelegene Restaurant am Thunersee besucht. Die für uns zuständige Kellnerin hat uns sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und kompetent bedient. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt an diesem Abend im Schloss. Der grosse Tisch war schön gedeckt, die Teller sehr ansprechend angerichtet und das Essen schmeckte hervorragend. Was aber schon bei der Vorspeise auffiel und sich beim Hauptgang erneut zeigte: Die Portionen waren unglaublich klein. Auf die Frage, ob es recht sei, antworteten wir: „Es ist sehr lecker aber leider viel zu wenig um satt zu werden“. Zu unserer Enttäuschung reagierte die Kellnerin, die beim Abräumen half, nur mit einem verlegenen Lächeln. Wir hätten bei einem Restaurant in dieser Preisklasse erwartet, dass man uns irgend eine Option angeboten hätte. Enttäuscht und hungrig bezahlten wir die Rechnung. Der Abend, der so schön begonnen hatte, endete damit, dass wir uns zu Hause noch etwas kochten, um unseren Hunger zu stillen. Sehr schade!"
