River Cafe - Carta

The location is great but every time I have been there the service has been really bad and unfriendly. Unfortunately there are no vegan options on the menu and they don't have any plant milks either.

everywhere was closed on the Christmas day and we stumbled on this place when we led up the philosophenweg. they probably appreciate that we are willing to take the cash, but all the other things that the service goes to this place.

Quite possibly the most delicious foie gras in a long time! Presented in a refined jacket of mandarine jelly. Utterly scrumptious! The main was equally amazing: stewed grilled ‘wild’ peaches in cream with Stilton. The delicious food was served by friendly and extraordinarily helpful staff....Do yourself a favour and eat here! the menu is very limited, although the food we ordered was good. I had the green salat with goat cheese and cowardly scavenging and enjoyed it. my man ordered the steak and it was good. I also ordered the Sardinian pasta and it was ok....The best we had was a delicious bite from the kitchen of white garlic soup. it was excellent and should be included as a menu item.

Love this local restaurant, but particularly in winter when the patio isn't being used, you absolutely must book ahead for a table. Everything we've had here has been great steak, chicken, pasta. They are very flexible for children and will make something simple for...them if you ask. Friendly attentive staff, super cozy interior. Get a table by the windows if you can.

We found the crowds in Heidelberg to be a bit overwhelming so we crossed the river to see if we could find a more quiet place to get an afternoon snack. The River Cafe was perfect. We sat outside and watched bicycles and people passing...by while sipping wine and enjoying a wonderful selection of bruschetta. The service was perfect and the prices were fair. Would be happy to return to enjoy an actual meal. Ver carta

this time I decided to cafe the river, as it was the silly season,' which I thought close to Christmas, it was full, but allowed me to sit at the bar/zone. I had the special days that was a very reasonable price-three-lunch. fennel and orange starter, steamed fish fillet on mash with rooted, then a casting desert. all very tasty if a little small. I will visit this cafe again and go for the al a carte options

Very Chic (but not pretentious), old school waiters (but not cheesy) that pay super attention to details and above all really really good food. The portions are just about right fear not that you will get a fancy small portion cuz it’s not the...case. Good wine selection. I went on a Friday evening without reservation and still found a table (inside but at the window) The prices are not low but they are manageable for that neighborhood and type of restaurant

The outdoor seating close to a busy intersection is very popular and trendy, especially for observing tuned vehicles. Indoors is pleasantly bistro and adequately spaced, and the staff is ... interesting. We tried to order Prosecco as aperitif, but were told We are not an...italian restaurant although there was a cocktail on offer which was apparently made with prosecco. Unfortunately, the food is average: our fish of the day was undercooked and the sides poorly flavoured. The Maize-chicken dish was really dry, tough and bland. Not a good price-performance ratio.
