Super food, super service and lovely cosy atmosphere. If you’re looking for traditional seafood with a modern twist, then this is the place for you. It isn’t the cheapest but is still excellent value all round. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Wonderful restaurant, especially good for fish and seafood. Service is great but still has real character. Food never disappoints and there's an excellent selection of wines and beers. The owner is a superb chef and host and clearly looks after his staff too. Ver carta

This review is excellent. The food was superb and the staff were very welcoming and efficient. The oysters were delicious and definitely worth trying. The other fish dishes on the menu were also top-notch. Just a heads up, if you receive exceptional service and want to leave a tip, make sure to bring cash with you as it cannot be added to a credit or debit card payment.

Best Cod dish I’ve had! This was a very last minute booking and they managed to squeeze us in! We are eternally grateful. The whole team are wonderful especially the lady serving on Friday evening (02/02/24). We had oysters and Champagne… the works ! We even managed to squeeze in a little wine tasting to determine our favourite wine for the evening. It’s not cheap, but a very good restaurant for special occasions!

We were very lucky to have booked a table in the afternoon on the day we visited, as my partner wanted to go to a Fish restaurant. I myself am not a lover of fish but really enjoyed an amazing selection of Oysters served in 3 different ways, followed by a beautiful Cod dish. The restaurant itself is very intimate (so would highly recommend booking as early as possible) and the service was very personable: Nicola looked after us, recommended wines and made us feel very special. We had the pleasure of bumping into her again the following evening and she greeted us like old friends it is meeting people like Nicola that make a dining experience extra special. Ver carta

Probably one of our favorite meals on our trip through Scotland and England in October. Restaurant is a beautiful little jewel box of a setting! Service was attentive, helpful and spot on for suggestions. Found out later that our server was the chef/owner…he was a delight! Started with a variety of raw and then cooked oysters, all delicious. Washed them down with an apple cider spritz. Then moved on to the Cullen skink, which was outstanding. I could eat this every day. For mains, my husband had the seafood linguine and I had the mussels with seaweed fries. We could not have been happier. A beautiful meal in a wonderful setting. Seriously recommend when in Inverness. Call ahead to reserve.

River House in Inverness may just be the best restaurant in town. The food was absolutely amazing and my partner and I are still talking about it months after our visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Inverness. During our honeymoon trip right after New Year's, we had a late reservation at 8:45pm. The couple next to us recommended the Cullen Skink, and we are so glad we tried it as an appetizer. It was truly delicious. The staff surprised us with a glass of Prosecco to celebrate our honeymoon, which was a thoughtful touch. Our main courses of seafood linguine and steak were also fantastic. Booked a couple of weeks before our visit and received a quick email reply from Alfie the owner confirming things. Just a short walk from the nearby Inverness riverside Premier Inn and a warm welcome from the staff who took our coats. Table for 2 in a almost full small restaurant, it has a cosy feeling and not overcrowded, very attentive staff and great 70's/80's background music, not too loud. Large selection of mostly seafood dishes and eventually went with a selection of seafood orientated ones which were all perfectly cooked and artistically presented, accompanied by a crisp white wine that complemented the food perfectly.
