Food was good value for the price but let down by lack of decor and lack of drinks available. Wouldn’t go back.

I enjoyed Riverlife. It served me two dishes that were both interesting and quite tasty, even though they had aspects that didn't quite work.

riverlife offers an extensive menu, tastefully good food prepared in the house. the only place in edinburgh serves a fusion of French Caribbean food. byob no leiche, you just have to try it.

Amazing food, with plenty of options to suit all dietary requirements. Allergens were listed on the menu, not a little sheet kept behind the counter like many other places, which was brilliant. Lovely staff, and a great atmosphere.

What a great find! Lovely and welcoming and the Caribbean food was delicious. My husband and I both had the mutton curry with plantain. The meat was so tender and the spices were blended really well to make this a really tasty meal. We had cocktails too which were very nice. Dominic who served was very attentive and Mario the Chef came out to see us later on in the evening. After our meal Dominic played guitar and we all joined in the singing. Great atmosphere. I hope we manage to go back again soon in the not too distant future.

soou good. that must be my favorite restaurant. I've been here since the end of april three times. we have there at 5:50 clock that it is not opened by 6. they let us in so that we could sit, put our beer in the refrigerator (was a very hot evening) yes in edinburgh! met her mann mario, who is the cook, who is sure one of the best cooks I have come across my favorite starters so far the figure in pancetta must be filled with blue cheese balsamico dressing and the mushrooms are filled with blue cheese. the smoked salmon table cake, winged eggs, French senf dressing is divine. I work my way through the menu so I can't wait to go back.

everything I can say is wow. I had so many great culinary experiences in edinburgh, but this one has to repel them all. there were 11 of us overall, so we have booked quite far in advance because it is a small restaurant. we went on a Friday night and it's byob, that was great for us, but maybe not all around us! the service was very relaxed, but friendly, and our waitress was very harmonious about what she liked on the menu, which I enjoyed very much. one of my friends had been before, so I took my lead from her at the order and the waitress said quickly that this was her favorite, so I was very excited! we shared the garnels with garlic and ingwer to begin the extreme...read more
