The most amazing experience, fantastic food served by the most creative and friendly restaurateurs I’ve ever met. An absolute must !!! Worth every penny, you will not regret it .

Had a Sunday roast for Mother's Day at this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the dessert was fantastic. I highly recommend it. I will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Superb restaurant with amazing attention to detail, knowledgeable, passionate service and surprises on the menu, wonderful flavour combinations I never had tried before. Not cheap but this restaurant is ALL about the food. I will be back! Ver carta

The food is exquisite to look at exquisite to eat. A proper foodie experience for meat eaters vegetarians. The location restaurant surroundings are very modest. No sea view here, but you can walk by the sea afterwards discuss every gorgeous detail of the experience you just had.

Wow! The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere in the new private dining room was amazing! I requested some changes for a private dining experience for a group of friends, and the Roots team was very accommodating and helpful. Everyone enjoyed the food and had a wonderful evening. Thank you!

Birthday lunch and tasting menu was fantastic. Catered for awkward Veggie partner and my pescatarian ways. Austrian waiter was fantastic and straight to the point which was most entertaining. It was a bit quiet that day so Chef came to see us incredibly interesting to hear his take on a Germanic twist to his food. Thoroughly enjoyable lunch and will ensure we have another visit. Amazing experience. We received a great welcome and fab service throughout. Every course of the tasting menu was explained as it was served and each one was delicious. We had the accompanying drinks flight and each one was matched perfectly. The meal took about 4 hours to have the 12 courses so wasn’t rushed and timed just right. Probably the best meal we’ve ever had. Also got chatting to some of the other guests which was an unexpected but lovely addition to the overall evening. Absolutely recommended!

This is a wonderful find in Southbourne. My wife and I had one of our best evenings out for a long time. From the moment you walk in you are made to feel welcome. Jan and his team have got it just right . The food is interesting, delicious and beautifully presented . The choice of wines to accompany each course was artfully selected. The room has nine tables and the spacing is clever so the room does not feel overcrowded . The ambience is friendly and warm with impeccable service. I am looking forward to going back as soon as I can.

This restaurant is a delightful gem. They welcomed us by taking our coats and offering us a cozy seat. Despite having dined at many Michelin-starred establishments, I was pleasantly surprised by the fine dining experience at an affordable price. The server went above and beyond, allowing us to sample additional wines. We opted for the shorter lunch menu and were thoroughly satisfied. The various mushroom dishes, especially the amuse-bouche and mushroom tea, were exceptional. The bread was heavenly and a definite must-try. The chocolate passionfruit dessert was divine. The wine selection was impressive, including the Tokaji dessert wine which I always appreciate. To top it off, we were served... Ver carta
