Whenever we dine at The Rose and Crown, I am always impressed with the delicious food. However, every time I have ordered takeout, I have been disappointed. The chicken tenders I ordered recently were not up to par, as they were mostly dark meat and not enjoyable. Overall, the restaurant gets a 5 out of 5 for its rooms, service, and location. Ver carta

I was keen to try out the Rose Crown as its local to my holiday let. The service was friendly efficient, however the food was of appalling standard. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, I was hoping for good pub grub, it was far from good! One of the worst plates of food I’ve ever had. I was hoping to put this place on my recommendation list for guests, it’ll be on the one to miss! What a disappointment.

I have a serious dairy and nut allergy, so I called ahead before making a reservation to ensure they could accommodate my needs. They confirmed over the phone that they could, and seemed quite professional. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately both my starter and main course caused a mild reaction. We had to cut our meal short and quickly head to the store to get allergy medication. Overall, the food was mediocre and left much to be desired. The service was rated a 2.

Location is OK. Plenty of parking. Toilet is OK but could do with a hourly clean. Food has to be a hit or miss. We've been 3 times and it's been good and then the 4th time it was bearable. Been 2x more and it's been okish. At the moment it has a zero out of 5 star rating but I believe that it is a mistake by council food safety etc. Downside to the pub is the beer garden. You have to cross a main busy road to get to it and the beer seating area is small. Not much privacy or sheltering. Walkability: Caters for disabled. It's slightly uphill. The rooms are up a step so I don't know if they have disabled rooms. Ver carta

A wonderful restaurant and bar. The kindly staff accommodated us at short notice. We were there early evening. The venue is beautifully decorated and light. The service was amazing. The staff are friendly but very professional. The food was incredible. Each of our party chose something different. Each plate was clean as a whistle on completion. We had the lemon chicken burger, chicken curry, mozzarella stack burger, scampi and mac and cheese with pork. The desserts were just as good chocolate fudge cake, lemon meringue pie and sticky toffee pudding. Good sized portions. Excellent value for money. Wonderful, warm staff. We cannot recommend this amazing restaurant enough.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with a comfortable bed. The evening food is very good and the staff are polite, helpful, and friendly. However, the breakfast options have decreased with only two options on the menu - a full English breakfast (a little greasy) or a vegetarian option. There is a small table with tea/coffee and optional juices on request, a toaster, and a few cereal options. Some yogurts were sitting on the table getting warm and not refrigerated. Overall, it is still a good place to stay with excellent evening food. It is recommended to have a hairdryer in every room for convenience. The area feels safe and the atmosphere is warm. The prices are reasonable.

Very inexperienced staff who had a bit a bit of an attitude towards customers who seemed to be from a different walk of life,didn't come across as friendly at all,communication skills towards the public in general seemed to be awry and need serious brushing up on.Checked in at 4pm,apparently breakfast is served from 8.30am onwards.We told the young lady who took our payment and gave us the key to our room that our train back home was at 7.58am.In most places we stay at they offer us an alternative (i.e:sandwiches to take away with us)but not here,this should have been within our rights as breakfast is included in the price.I noticed that she seemed very quick to offer us an evening meal as t...
