Just had a delivery, It was ontime nice and hot food was delicious and the people on the phone nice and friendly

Had the Hong Kong style sweet and chicken far too sweet .plus the young chow fried rice which was egg fried rice with the meat involved **** awful.

I placed an order for pick up and it was ready in just ten minutes. I ordered the special curry with chips, 1/4 duck pancakes, and special rice. The food was delicious and served hot, especially the chips. The staff member at the counter was very friendly.

This Chinese restaurant is the best in town. The food is top-notch and perfectly cooked. The place is spotlessly clean and very inviting. I highly recommend checking it out in Newton Abbot. The dishes are all clearly prepared by a highly experienced Chinese chef. This restaurant is a gem and a true credit to Newton Abbot.

I have been ordering takeout from this restaurant for almost 8 years. The food is the best in the area, but every time I go, it feels like I am a stranger. Don't you recognize me after all this time? Is it so hard to get to know your customers? I give a B+ for the quality of the food, but a D- for effort in getting to know your regular customers.

Tried a few Chinese takeaways in Newton, but none compare to the Royal China, had a special chow mein, it was piping hot, vegetables where crisp to the bite, noodles where perfect, mixed meat excellent and to top it off the barbecue sauce was delicious and complimented the meal, a Couple of pounds more than other takeaways for the same meal but we'll worth it for the quality.

Our delivery was on time, and the pot of seaweed to the starter was delicious. that was the only positive about the meal. The mixed starter looked good on first sight but it was all over cooked. The chicken and pineapple dish tasted only of onions and the chicken was only just on the right side of cooked, it was very slimy, the special fried rice had slices of dried up meat on top of the rice and was like trying to chew leather. If people consider this to be a good meal they must surely be used to some dreadful meals.

This establishment is described on their website as the Royal China Restaurant. The fascia above the door makes the same claim. Looking inside you will observe a room with tables and chairs. But when enter you find this is blocked off, it's now just a takeaway. The nearby New China Garden has been practising the same imposture for the last two years. I realise grievous harm was done to the hospitality sector by the pandemic. But to continue describing a takeaway as a restaurant after all this time is not only less than honest but is hugely frustrating for holidaymakers who may not have the option, or even the desire, for a takeaway. Surely a case for Trading Standards?

This is the second time I’d got a takeaway for the family. The first one was good but sadly this was not so great. I had special fried rice and the duck and chicken (I think that was what it was) was laid on the top in large slices. All were completely dried out. I had to tear them by hand but gave up. The special fried rice was however lovely. My daughters chicken chow neon looked good but the first piece of chicken was a strange flavour and taste so she was reluctant to continue. My sons sweet and sour battered chicken was good and I the left overs the following day. Unlikely to go again in a hurry.
