"We did everything wrong arrived peak time Friday evening, not booked, three people with a wet dog. But a thoroughly warm welcome, fitted us in without fuss, nice beers and fresh cooked food especially the excellent desserts. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"this place is a must when they are in alloa! we stayed on the street and the hotel recommended it, we are so glad that they. eating was fantastic and I've never seen so efficient, unhappy waiting staff. everyone was taken table and the two. the guards had it up to an absolute art form! Eat quickly came out and was an excellent standard, the best meal that we would be sure for during our trip to Scotland through a land mile if it were not so far away!"

"Tonight there were 14 of us gathered at the same table. Some had 3 courses, some had 2 and some had 1 plus drinks. Any food uneaten was down people unable to eat any more because the portions so generous and the food beautifully cooked and presented. We are had a wonderful time and the waiters and waitress were excellent and often joined in our banter which just added to everyones enjoyment I must that I originally booked for 4 persons, rang last night to ask to change it to 10 and at lunchtime today to change it to 14 as more family wished to join us. The persons amending the booking always courteous and friendly. Thank you all for contributing to a wonderful family get-together and hope we can return at some point in the future.we"

"Had been here once before about five years ago and was impressed. Returned the other week, first time post Covid, and wondered if it would still be as good. It was a Saturday afternoon at the beginning of March. It looked as if they had increased the number of tables, at the expense of retail space since the last time we were there (though I may be wrong, it was five years ago! but despite that it looked as if there were no tables free. However, as it was a warm day we offered to take one of the outside tables. Within a few minutes a friendly server had arrived to take our order and within a few minutes more the food had arrived, despite how busy the place was. We both has the soup and smoked salmon sandwich combo. There was a choice of two soups and we had them both between us and they were really good, and a generous portion. I was expecting the smoked salmon sandwich to be a few slivers but no, it was a generous slab of hot smoked salmon in lovely brown bread. Excellent! So, please to say standards have been maintained and I certainly hope to be back again, sooner than five years this time!"

"£9.50 for 2 coffees and a wee baguette. Wont go back in. Needs cleaned. Old decor. Smelled bad with a hint of horrible disinfectant. Seats disgustingly dirty, smelly and shabby. Unappetising food. Tasted basic. Looked very unappealing. Waited 5 mins to be served as girl behind bar was texting. Looked not interested in even being there. I couldn't touch food. Coffee ok not very warm. Alot needs updating and renewed in bar area and toilet. Only saving grace was the locals are friendly."
