"Beautiful old building and enthusiastic staff to tell us all about the history. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. We had lunch; fish and chips, the burger, 2 club sandwiches, drinks including 2 glasses of wine and coffees for less than £25 a head. If you're in Cardiff Bay and want a change from the usual restaurant chains, head here! It's only a few mins walk from the Millennium Centre. We'll definitely be back."

Warm and cozy location close to Cardiff Bay excellent food and very good variety of options to choose from. We were a group of 25 people and truly enjoyed the dinner.

Really lovely food. Not cheap but worth every penny. Very nice feel to the restaurant, in a beautiful building. The staff were friendly and very efficient. We will definitely eat here again.

Very friendly service and good food, my steak was perfectly cooked and the chocolate fondant I had for dessert was delicious. The place itself has a nice decor and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Great food, drinks, and service. Possibly some of the friendliest staff in any resturant in Cardiff. I was staying at the Coal Exhange for 2 nights with work and the breakfasts were fantastic, and I'd definatley come back again for the Sunday roast!

Our visit to Culleys was excellent we’d booked beforehand but weather meant we probably hadn’t needed to. Staff were friendly and food was great we had steaks that tasted delicious and it was a very relaxing experience. Would definitely return when we next visit Cardiff

We’re so pleased that Culleys have reopened! We booked in for Sunday dinner and the food and service didn’t disappoint. Staff continued to ensure that we catered for throughout our stay and the chef even gave us extra potatoes for my little boy. We can’t wait to revisit again soon! Ver carta

So happy that Culleys has reopened. Visited recently with friends who were in Cardiff for the rugby. We wanted somewhere to go for food that wouldn’t be too packed but still have a nice atmosphere. Food and service was wonderful and the extensive wine list kept our glasses topped up throughout the night!

Best Sunday lunch I can remember. Came in a hot metal platter, a stuffed, succulent chicken breast, tender braised lamb, roast potatoes, roasted diced carrot, parsnip and swede, Yorkshire pud, cabbage, mangetout and peas with tasty gravy. We had a side of cauliflower cheese between us. Beautifully cooked and great value for money. Staff attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

"It was the most bizarre experience dining here. First when we arrived in the restaurant, our group set up was that there was someone on each end who was sitting facing an empty chair on the other side of the table. Upon enquiry we understood it was a covid measure, however never had any other restaurants requesting such seating arrangements in the past 20 months. We ordered two split pots, a non-spicy broth for one side of the pot and a spicy broth for the other side. The staff came to confirm that we wanted spicy/non-spicy in each pot. Yes, we said. To our shock when the pots came, one pot was spicy/spicy on both side, and the other was non-spicy/non-spicy on both sides. This was after the staff had came by to confirm that we wanted a spicy/non-spicy set-up, and in the usual situation a person wanting a spicy broth would not have asked for a split pot. We raised this to the staff and were clearly unhappy about it, though did not insist on having the broths changed around. What happened next made it the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experience ever. From where we were sitting, we could hear the owner reprimanding the staff for the error, throughout our meal. We understand mistakes occur and if the owner was unhappy about the mistake and genuinely wanted to apologise, taking the initiative to change the broth to the right setup, or a complimentary drink or dish would have gone a long way. But no, he chose to reprimand the staff within our hearing for the whole dinner (which didn't help the situation one bit and made the experience worse! . We felt sorry for the staff. Even with the hospitality shortage, that was a completely wrong way to help the staff improve, nor help retain them in the long run. I don't remember anything about the food, although photos did show a good range to choose from. At the end of the meal we each received a box of hello panda, which might have helped, if not for the fact they were expired. All in all, would not recommend."
