Ruby's - Carta

My wife and I decided to go here after a trip to Whitehead. We ordered a pizza each and what can I say, they were delicious! Staff were polite and friendly and the restaurant was clean and modern. Would definitely go back!

My friends were going for afternoon tea and asked me to join, I didn’t think they would be able to do much for a vegan but I was so surprised!!! Vegan scones, cream, creme brûlée, absolutely everything. So impressed, the staff were great and I’ll definitely be back, highly recommend.

The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, and the staff were blatantly ignoring us from the moment we sat down. We had to continuously try to get their attention as they walked past us multiple times while we were attempting to order drinks and food. The food was both overpriced and terrible. Just took the family out for dinner. Beautiful restaurant, very clean and well lit. Fast customer service but most importantly the food was excellent. The starters were very big and worth the money. Mains were also a good size. We paid £16 for 2 courses and it was well worth it. Only 1 of our party finished their meal. Live music was starting as we were leaving. All in all a great place to dine.

Great service, great food and great value for money all presented well and a good menu choice would highly recommend. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we have visited here a few times and the food is always very consistent we had the 8hr slow cooked braised roast beef and the sticky chilly chicken both where delicious and the milk shakes are lovely huge and only £4 . The restaurant itself is very well decorated and spotlessly clean.

We used to visit Rubys on a fairly regular basis but the standard of food dropped and it was becoming more of a “Lads” bar with noisy football supporters at the bar watching a number of TV screens. Unknown to us the owners carried out an extensive refurb to the layout interior and now have a very smart dining room with much better bar area and a spacious outside sun area. We decided to give it another go and can say the food was very good indeed. The staff very welcoming and attentive without being in your face. Will certainly be back, well done the owners! Ver carta

I ordered food from Just Eat at 5pm. After waiting for about an hour, I called to inquire about my order and was told it was on its way. When I called again, the girl on the line hung up on me and told me to stop complaining. I called back after being hung up on and was told my food was leaving now. After waiting for 40 minutes, my order still hadn't arrived. I called again and was told it would be here within 20 minutes, but it still didn't show up. The customer service from the girl was terrible, as she thought it was okay to speak to customers in a disrespectful manner and hang up on them. I was really disappointed as I used to love Ruby's before this experience.

We visited this restaurant for the first time this afternoon. We ordered a jug of orange juice, but it was filled with ice and appeared more like colored water with very little orange flavor. The place felt cold, and the soup we ordered as starters - one chilly sticky chicken and one **** and bull, a chicken and steak soup, were served in good-sized bowls but were cold. We had to send them back, and when they returned, they were hot but the vegetables were still hard, with raw carrots and celery. We found this very disappointing. Our mains arrived, my chilly chicken was good but my wife's chicken and steak was mediocre. Despite asking for the steak to be well done, there were still some pink...

Always pleased to return here and, gosh, this time it had been far too long! I was dizzy with anticipation about the refurb, especially seeing the upgraded ladies' loos. At last, at last the 80s look has gone. All good. During the Olympics, we found ourselves watching a Rugby League match on the bar screen which was rather odd, we thought. We started with the chowder which was absolutely delicious and full of many different ingredients. We loved the very dark wheaten bread that came with it. My main was beef shortrib. This was pretty good, although more sauce would have gone down well. My husband said something similar about his lamb dish. The service was excellent. The waiter was polite and... Ver carta
