Absolutely adore this place. The CHF30 Bento Boxes at lunch really fill you up and taste fantastically. Very impressed by the lovely and accommodating service we received here without a booking.

We went there for dinner because another one was closed somehow. Anyway it’s on my to try list, so why not. The restaurant is not that big, really cozy. The food is great and I will come back to try the other dishes.

We love trying all the Japanese restaurants and we love trying to find the best Tantanmen : and I'm happy to say : WE FOUND IT! First of all it was great that I could use my Japanese and order and talk to the very friendly staff in Japanese : We tried a lot for appetizers : Karaage, Tuna Tartare, Takoyaki and Tempura. And everything was tasty and really Japanese. As for the mains, we had some Sushi/Sashimi, Fishbowls, Bento and the Tantanmen. Really tasty!

The place is entirely run by Japanese staff, which is always a good indicator to me that I'm not getting averagely prepared common Asian food, but actual authentic and good Japanese cuisine. I've come here for lunch multiple times and always went for the Sushi Sashimi Set, which is incredible for the 30 Franks you pay (which is very cheap for Zurich for what you get). Fish is fresh and of high quality, miso soup is hot and tasty. Staff was friendly every time I came. The place is a bit on the smaller side, so it's hard to get a table at peak hours, so I would recommend going for a late lunch here.
