Small restaurant with a warm welcome, the plates are very generous and with quality products! We feel like we’re at our grandparents’ house! Great address.

Tout est fait maison comme annoncé sur la carte: de la bonne viande et des poissons cuit au feu de bois. Des bonnes glaces variées mais il faut rester patient ... l'organisation laisse à désirer mais la nourriture mérite l'attente.

Un accueil aimable sans être empressé, une cuisine de qualité, un choix de vin raisonnable, que du bonheur pour cette première expérience ! Du coup, nous y sommes retournés le lendemain pour déjeuner , c'était toujours aussi bon. Et le spectacle est aussi dans la cheminée !

We visited here 8 years ago and were very happy to see the restaurant had survived the pandemic. This is the preeminent restaurant in Carcassonne so a reservation is a must. Steaks are dry aged and you can order in 100g increments extra. Dinner was done perfectly, wine was great, staff were exceptional!

A very good address. A very nice, warm and friendly welcome. Very good cuisine. Delicious dishes. More than generous portions. From appetizers to dessert, a treat. Watch out for the pounds . We had a wonderbox menu. We recommend this restaurant. Don't miss the cassoulet. Everything is prepared and cooked in front of you in the fireplace. In short, an address to recommend and remember.

Our experience here was rather poor. We waited no less than 45 minuttes before the waiter even gave us the menu, and another 20-30 minuttes before he came around again to let us order. The meat we ordered was then served without any sauce - the waiter was in too much in a hurry to ask us what kind we wanted and then served us none at all. The staff speaks no English at all, at least not the waiter we had. Disappointing.

There's a double T/A listing for Le Cathare. Anyway we ate here several times three years ago and rated it highly.Returning yesterday we had a very pleasant meal but were a little disappointed that the menu had changed significantly, we're told to meet summer tourist demand. Gone was the meat counter where you used to choose from a wide selection of excellent quality meats then cooked on the wood fire coals - a large menu now offer only entrecote steak or lamb chops which is fine but limited to the top end set menu or a la carte making it more expensive. We understand the "old style" menu returns during the winter months....A shame as it was for us the main drawcard.Le Cathare offers good va...
