Schmilinsky Ristorante

this restaurant is part of a hotel. they would pass if they don't see the menu sign outside. I had dinner in the beautiful garden. it took about minutes before they came with the menu and took my weeping order. me. I almost went out about that. the food was very nice, and the waiter was very friendly and did his best. otherwise I would have rated the restaurant deeper.

Found this little gem on Trip advisor. Our first trip to Hamburg, not sure where to eat. We like Italian food, and this restaurant stood out. We were not disappointed, the welcome by the owner was warm and genuine. The menu was small but varied,...just right for us. The marinated duck starter was perfect. The main and dessert courses were just as pleasing. The Italian wines, spot on. For part of the evening we were the only diners, so atmosphere was up to us, however we like each others company! Service was ememplary.

We enjoyed the set menu for dinner at euro pp. The starter was fantastic, calamari and octopus salad. Our mains were guinea hen and pike perch with chanterelles. The dessert was a fabulous trio of home made pastry tiramisu, panna cotta with strawberries,...and a puff pastry. Our server was more than accommodating and so helpful and attentive. The room is charming, like being in a private dining room. Wine list was good and reasonable. We absolutely loved our experience. Menu changes weekly. This is a special chef. Don't miss it!

Just a little away from the main street. Nice restaurant downstairs. The service is impeccable, polite and efficient. Interesting wine selection. The food in general is very tasty (some of my colleagues has steak and said it was seasoned enough). I had white asparagus au...gratin and shrimp risotto. Both excellent. Recommended for a business dinner or even for date night. One recommendation...menu is on blackboard, i understand there are a lot of selections but writing is so small (and in german) that you must have the waiter reading it to you.

Schmilinsky.....doesn't really sound like an Italian restaurant does it? But it is! And a pretty good one as well. The food is fine, but nothing spectacular. The wine card is limited but well composed and there is a fridge for the red wine : The...best thing about the place is the waiter, Carmine. We know him from his previous job (Poletto) and as always he took really good care of us. Thank you, Carmine! Many nights you will have this place almost to yourselfs as it is well hidden and pretty unknown. Despite our positive experience, Schmilinsky does not enter my personal Top of Italian restaurants in Hamburg.

I visited this restaurant with my wife on Monday night, and maybe it was quite empty because of the day. we were served by the only waiter in the restaurant. he was very attentive and friendly. the service was fast, but we had enough. time for everything. we have both selected the surprise menu of three portions that were each, and let the waiter choose our wein, because only he knew what would correspond to the surprise menu. each of the portions was really good, especially the main course, which contained fried pike and king garnel with something sweet. everything really tasted fresh, and the wee was perfect. we both loved the composition of dinner. as much as I try to find negative to red...

I returned to this facility last night for the first time and I am glad I did. it is a small restaurant that was formerly run by an eccentric Italian chef and the kitchen was always good. well, the old owner has moved to italy, but I can report that the tradition lives. we were greeted by the new Italian property and everything is as I remember. we took the surprise menu for a small appetit maker, then the escape of the cold meat and such a delicious warm mushroom salad. the main course was loup de mer with a portion mixed vegetables cooked exactly right, so they still crisp and tasty. the desert was a generous plate of various Italian confectionery. an interesting white wine from abruzzo fo...

After reading several reviews of Schmilinsky restaurant we decided to book a table. We were not disappointed! Hidden in a basement, but with a garden view in the back we liked the atmosphere inside. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and competent. A small welcome bruschetta...with very good mozzarella accompanied our aperol spritz. We had the mixed antipasti and the asparagus with shrimp as a starter. And as a main course we ordered the tuna fish and the turbot with truffle sauce. Everything tasted very good and fresh. We reserved a table at Schmilinsky given its location near our hotel and the previous reviews and were not disappointed! Amazingly on a Friday night our group of were on our own for most of the evening, however this was difficult to believe given...the quality of the food and the service we experienced! We all went for the three course surprise' menu, where you are not too sure what you will be served, although you can choose meat or fish for your main. The risk was worth it and our starters consisted of a number of small portions of of the starters on offer and the same went for the desserts.
