"We pre-booked for 19:30 weeks in advance using the app, on the night we arrived on time and was greeted by the front of house and told to wait while they get our table ready, we we surprised at it was not busy and there was lots of tables ready. We waited 25 minutes, before we had to flag down a waitress, they had forgotten about us!! Unbelievable as we where the only couple in the reception area. We we showed to our table and left again without even a attempt for a drinks order. Finally when they came around after another 15 minutes we ordered wine and a starter. When it came to mains I ordered the fillet steak, when it arrived it was over cooked, so I send it back, what a mistake, the head chef was throwing pots and pans around, we waited and waited when a replacement steak arrived it was cold as it was sitting on the side so long before it was served. I refused to pay for the poor quality of food and the absolutely diabolical service. This place is under staffed and not worth going. As we walked out we realised that the reason for the poor service was that all the staff was to busy with the room service orders. Do go, worst experience ever, truly!!!"

Lovely fillet steak, if a little pricey! Great atmosphere and a lovely way to spend my birthday

My first visit to this place. Although not to keen on where we where sat the food and great service soon made me forget about sitting practically in the kitchen. A great place to visit.

Really enjoyed my meal at the Scottish Steak Club I had the butchers cut with skinny fries and asked for fried onions in place of the onion rings. I enjoyed the ice cream sundae (which you can make your own). I would definitely go back again.

4 of us ate on a Thursday evening, colleagues on a work trip. They have a great menu with the highlight being steak but plenty of other options the food was perfectly cooked presented. Really tasty. The dessert menu had regular deserts but also a 'make your own ' Sundae option, which you ticked your choices we all thought it was a great idea so opted for those all 4 were brill! Look forward to going back.

we chose the rump steak (medium rare.) although beautifully spiced and sad by good taste the meat was very hard to chew with only about 50-75% of the steak actually edible. the garnish was just sad to say we had a better steak dinner cooked with super market meat. dessert was not so advertised, passionate obst iscream was in the tat vanille and the tiramisu was quite overwhelming. very bad price-performance ratio in the did we canceled our reservation for the next night and had instead of room service, which was half price and very pleasant.

Upon arriving were told to wait in seating area for our table. We were not offered a drink. When were seated at our tables were were given menus again, not offered a drink. Upon ordering our food our waitress turned to leave the table without offering us a drink. I managed to get her attention and order of bottle of Laurent Perrier Rose. 10 minutes later it arrived at our table. Initial glass of champagne was poured by a waiter. We were left for the rest of the evening to pour own. This is not the treatment I am used to when I pay over the odds for a bottle of champagne. Food was average. Not once did anyone ask if everything was ok with our food we were not offered any seasoning which was a...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
