"We made a reservation for the tasting menu and wine pairing at this restaurant. It was a birthday celebration and an intimate dinner for two. We started by having cocktails in the lounge, and mine was one of the best I've had in years - subtle, delicate, and lovely. The service was exceptional, with each dish being introduced and presented beautifully. We ended the meal with coffee and a nightcap in the lounge. I couldn't find any faults at all - this place deserves high praise. The restaurant is located on a peaceful woodland estate with easy access to the A1M and Scotch Corner intersection. While I highly recommend it, I worry it will become too popular to get a table! The ambiance was perfect and it's amazing to have such quality just a short drive away. MLE, please don't change a thing."

"Popped into White Swan after dinner last night although I've walked past it many times it always looked so small from the outside. Well it's not that small once you're there. Lovely bar area with plenty seating, then a separate dining area, the outside seating area is just beautiful. Beautiful, lush greenery that's not plastic, fairy lights all over, comfortable seats, with a little corner that's set for a romantic evening. Very clean inside, even the washroom facility was spotless. Not sure about the food, as we didn't eat, but definitely return to find out. All in all a real gem."

"We arrived frazzled because we drove around the grounds in the dark not knowing where to go. The signage inside the grounds is no help at all. Allow time for this if you haven't been before. Fortunately we had because we wanted a pre dinner drink in the bar before we ate. Even when we did arrive we weren't sure if we had arrived at the back entrance because we stood for ages with no welcome or acknowledgement. A very disappointing start to our evening. When someone did come they didn't take our coats. We went through to the snug for a drink. They gave us menus and went away. Later came back for our order. We got our drinks and ordered our food. Then very quickly afterwards we were asked to go through to the restaurant. We had only had a couple of sips of our drinks and it was still prior to the time we had actually booked our table for (7.30pm). We felt rushed. The food came and was fabulous. I had the beetroot starter which had beautifully cooked beetroots and some pickles. It also had a grain through it. I couldn't remember what the grain was so asked a member of staff. She didn't know so went away to ask and came back saying it was probably buckwheat....probably! My main was pork belly with parsnip and an apple reduction. The pork could have been cooked a little longer. I think belly needs to be very well cooked until really soft. The top skin was impossible to cut through as it was not crisp, I couldn't eat it. A steak knife would have helped. Having said that it was still a good dish which could have been excellent. We had sides of mashed potato and greens with pickles both superb. The presentation of both dishes was innovative and inviting. Portion size was good too not tiny portions of fiddled with food which I much prefer. The service was not as polished as the food. There was no obvious manager and we had different servers which is never quite as good as one for the entire meal. The servers were scruffy not appropriate for such a lovely building. Overall it was OK but could have been superb with more attention to some details. Service: 2 Location: 3"

"Rooms: We are currently staying in the apartment above the pub and it is beautiful. Tastefully decorated. Everything you need for a few days away. The wifi is not the greatest but that is no way any fault if the establishment, the whole area seems to struggle. This place is a little gem and we are so glad we have found it. Food drinks: We are a party of 10 and the food we ordered was great value and we would highly recommend every dish we chose. The tapas was amazing. "We wanted to eat here, but unfortunately, the kitchen closed at 2 o'clock, so we were left feeling a bit cramped and dissatisfied. However, the bartender in the early afternoon was friendly and engaging, and we enjoyed the company of the pub dog. The local darts players provided plenty of entertainment, and the real fire added a cozy warmth to the atmosphere. With reasonably priced drinks, we ended up staying for three hours instead of just one. Thank you!"
