"Touring around The Isle of Skye and While visiting Skye, we saw a sign for the 'Skye Soup Kitchen ' within the Flodigarry Hotel. Two further signs on route advertised soup served 10am until 4pm. We pulled up outside at 3.10pm and, through the window could see 2 tables of customers with full bowls of soup. Once inside we stood at the 'please wait to be seated ' sign for 5 mins before a member of staff looked up from folding napkins and came to speak to us. By this time 2 other sets of customers were queueing behind us. We said we were here for soup and were advised that the kitchen might be closed. The staff member went to check with the chef, first of all confirming that it was a table of 3, a table of 2 and a table of 4. He came back saying the kitchen was closed as they hadn 't served anyone in the last half hour. Not sure how the two tables of people eating at the window managed to have full bowls of soup 10 mins before! We were however offered the option of a scone in the bar. My husband said this was disappointing considering the 3 signs en route. The staff member said they were considering changing them. As we left, this staff member and another who had appeared made a face at one another. I said to the 2nd staff member that I had seen them this was unprofessional. Her initial reply was he has pain pointing to her stomach and then the 1st member of staff before then denying anything had happened. We asked to speak to the manager. After waiting 10 mins she had not appeared. Perhaps she is still considering coming to speak to us as well as considering changing the times on the roadside advertising. So if you are considering The Flodigarry Hotel, my advice is avoid it so you are not disappointed!"

A seafood plate for 2 so small there wasn’t even 2 prawns, just one for two… but the worst was the freshness of the crab claws.. not edible. Very bad experience. A restaurant that wants to be high class but is not at the level they pretend to be.

Just stopped off for lunch here whilst out and about and it was lovely! They only did afternoon tea for a lunch option (perhaps due to covid) but the food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely views and interesting decor!

Fantastic view and very nice staff but very expensive. We stayed in the hotel and ate both breakfast and dinner. Locally produce and ingredients like lamb, cod, mushrooms and vernison Nice food, but not what we expected due to the prices (main course between £40-50, breakfast was £30 etc)

Just a sign at the road, almost missed it, down over a very bad street, but the Aston Martin in the lot indicated that this might not be too bad. And it wasn't! Although there are really expensive items on the menu, we just had a very reasonably priced salad for lunch, and it was fantastic! We'll go back and try the more exclusive stuff!

Wow! What a view, what food and what great service. For starters we had scallops and vension, main courses Halibut and lamb then desserts were chocolate and lemon posset. Just the right amount. Good laugh with staff too which was nice. Would recommend and they can deal with food allergies/intolerances with ease. Currently doing a limited menu and order in advance service

recent dinner there. great location and attractive room. staff very poorly trained and sloppy in their service. worst of all the food. I got sick from the oysters that had been brought up today from a local fisherman . the meal was cold, tasteless fish and chips and very overpriced. it was a struggle to get the staff to come to the table. probably the worst of all our Sky dinners.

A terrible experience at this hotel. Unprofessional, uncaring and scruffy staff. Ridiculous prices £14.95 for a bowl of soup, the same for a dessert that was days old. Lacklustre cheeseboard with stale crackers and ‘stone age’ bread that I think was actually baked in the Stone Age for £21. There was no one else there for lunch on the day we visited and you can tell why. Gorgeous setting but everything else needs some serious improvement. Avoid.

An evening visit to try the food. We were greeted with exceptional views and a lovely sunny night. We had scallops on a pea puree with black pudding Then Halibut on a bed of squid ink barley and Duo of Lamb Loin with veg and potatoes. Then I had a Compote of Rhubarb. All perfectly edible the scallops were good the halibut was good but none of it was exceptional the squid ink barley was horrible lacked any flavour or seasoning. The lamb was not what I expected being 1 small round of lamb and 2 chops which were not melt in the mouth. A bit tough. The veg and sauce were nice. The prices charged were expensive for the quality of what you got. I think your paying for the view rather than the food...

I've been to Skye many times, but this was my first time heading out this far (North? on the island. We were unable to get into any restaurants in town as the cruise ships were docked. (What a HORRIBLE addition to Skye by the way! I'm sure the extra income is nice for the locals, but UGH! Got a last minute reservation and as we were staying Staffin it wasn't too far. We were seated immediately, restaurant is charming. Not overly done, but very pretty. However, its too bad they don't take advantage of the view. We could see the garden on the side, but would have been nice to see the view of the ocean. (Nice patio for drinks after that over looked the ocean though! Food was lovely, we were hap...
