"Was here for lunch with my daughter at this self-proclamed "urban restaurant". No doubt - the interior design is pretty cool and they're based at a good and convenient location in Hamburg's nice district Eimsbuettel/Eppendorf. The service-ladies act friendly and took our order quickly straight after arrival. The restaurant was nearly empty so we felt a bit lost in this spacious room. Based on the fact that it was not that busy it took ages until we get out meals. We had a roasted chicken with dips which was good. Not brilliant, but good. Same with the dips. My daughter had a Pasta Chicken which was absolutely paltry... after that she felt sick for 2 days... After finishing with everything we asked for the check, but it took again too long... over-all it was a medium experience in a restaurant that was a bit too pricey in our opinion. Not sure if I'd would come back one day..."

Nice place to have a simple meal. Not too pricey either. The staff is nice and the atmosphere is cozy.

Pretty cheap and fast quality food. Real chicken restaurant and a lot of different side orders! I like it.

It is a nice and cozy place. Some nice ideas, like to serve a small glass of broth as starter, good chicken and good salad.

Love the roasted chicken- simple, tasty, and delicious! Comfort food that is healthy is hard to find, so I often get pick up a quarter chicken when I'm too lazy to cook. Cocktails are also fantastic!

We had a very delicious dinner at SoHo Chicken. Main course was a full chicken with French fries and a Caesar salad. Our dessert was a apple crumble. People are nice and the restaurant looks beautiful.

Twice a year I have this desire to eat a grilled chicken from one of these waggons infront of the supermarkets. its always disappointing. This chicken however is delicious! I recommend corn on the cob on the side. Ver carta

Except the lighting problem inside the restaurant, chicken they serve is most of the time juicy and nicely cooked. If its too dry they dont hesitate to change it with a new one and if it is raw, they dont charge it to your bill as well. Hard to find a parking place around but nice to visit once in a while

Nice atmosphere and warm welemoce in this "NY style" as the name tells.Brand new (less than one year maybe), the formula is (obviously) chicken based, menu pretty simple yet with a good variety, maybe just the fried chicken is missing...Young staff and high quality-price ratio. Strongly advised. IMHO the grilled chicken should be more cooked, but is tender and tasty. Good overall presentation.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
