We celebrated my Mum’s 90th birthday with a lunch at SGC for over 60 family friends. It was brilliant, the place, staff the food were excellent. Would definitely recommend this venue.

You wouldn't know this was here really and it's a really nice setting for a relaxing dinner not greatly advertised, but one of the best in the area for a Sunday roast you'll have to book as it does fill up with club members in advance

I visited for a Christmas meal and in a group of 20 (2 tables of 10). We had pre ordered and staff had made up place cards (reminding us what we’d ordered). The food was served table by table, quickly and quietly by the most lovely waiting staff. It was well presented, hot and delicious. Beautiful surroundings and well priced.

We attended a business xmas luncheon at t(e golf club where we were served a three course meal for the Christmas meeting. The table were set up in the conservatory a little squashed due to the amount of places set other that that little gripe the food was excellent hot and fresh very nicely presented. Would happily revisit this location for a meal.

Played here early August whilst visiting family locally. The course was in excellent condition with quick and true greens. What stood out more than anything however was how welcoming the club was both in the pro shop and in the restaurant. Green fees were also very reasonable for such a good quality course. Will certainly play here again during our next visit to the area.

We attended a Golden Wedding anniversary celebration and were extremely impressed with the food and service. We selected items from a menu and they were brought to our table without any issues. I ordered the roast chicken, which was top-notch and better than what I could make at home. The fruit crumble for dessert was possibly the best I've had in a restaurant. The service was excellent and unobtrusive. This restaurant is a hidden gem and we will definitely be returning. A huge thank you to our hosts.

I recently went to this restaurant for a funeral lunch and had a very enjoyable experience. The sandwiches were fresh and had a good selection of fillings. The only problem we encountered was the limited parking spots for disabled guests. The overall size of the parking lot was good, but there was only one designated spot for disabled parking. It would be helpful to have more designated spots to accommodate multiple disabled visitors and wheelchair users. Adding a few more designated spots in that area would make a big difference.

Bring a member of such a great club and having an amazing Chef Clive and his great staff are perfect combination to enjoy a round of golf on a Sunday with great mates then have a lazy lunch afterwards !!! 39 of us were treated to wonderful 3 course lunch , with great professional friendly waiting and bar staff ! Naturally a few beers and bottles of wine were drunk in our own private part of the restaurant where a few hearty “ Happy Birthday days to you” were sung !! We’ve decided to repeat that Sunday again soon ! Great value for money probably the best in the area £23 for 3 courses .Make sure you have the beef and finish with plate of cheese n biscuits !!

We organized a special event on Monday for 8 golfers who were close friends of Chris Cornish, who unfortunately passed away a few months ago. Three members of our group are part of SGC and had spoken highly of the course, so we were able to play at a discounted rate and thoroughly enjoyed the challenging and well-maintained course. After our round, we had delicious food and drinks with Chris's son and daughter, whom we had invited to join us. The tables were set up following Covid guidelines, both on and off the course, and all the staff provided excellent and attentive service throughout the day. Despite the somber occasion, it turned out to be a lovely day overall thanks to SGC.
