Spice Merchant is an up-market Indian restaurant in Beaconsfield.

The Spice Merchant decor, service, & food were all of an exceptional standard.

Great food but limited hours at lunch. When arrived the kitchen was about to close and table was for Ver carta

Fabulous food. A real treat. Indian fine dining. Huge portions and the onion bhajee is a must. Good atmosphere and excellent service.

It was one of the best places outside of London. The food and the service were outstanding, everytime there were visitors I would take them for dinner.

Food was absolutely fabulous. Only issue is that we felt pressured to order more food than we thought we would eat by our waiter and consequently had too much. Lesson learnt be strong and stick to your guns!! Ver carta

Unfortunately although everything looks lovely the food was not as authentic tasting as it should have been, the flavour was just not there. The staff were pleasant enough but the service was extremely slow pretty much like an afterthought. I certainly would expect better food and service for the cost, very overpriced but that could be down to the area.

Service was poor. The waiter interrupted several times. They then brought out the bill without us asking for it and then the credit card terminal. They asked if we wanted desserts, we asked to look at the menu- there was none… the waiter recited what they had. We then asked if they had hot drinks menu for after dinner- nothing and the only drinks they could offer were basic English breakfast tea or coffee. I did expect better from a restaurant of this standard.

The food was mediocre and I didn’t feel like there was anything special about it. Just tasted like a normal curry from any high street takeaway. The seating was so tightly arranged and at times I couldn’t push my chair back to stand because the table behind me had their chairs straight up against my back. Pretty much immediately after we finished eating, we could see the staff eyeing us to leave. And we felt uncomfortable and as if we were imposing even when there was no time limit on the table.
