"Brought family from overseas here for their first ever Sunday roast, before dropping them on a bus to the airport. The place is handily located right in the town centre but feels a lot nicer than many places nearby, much less chainy/plasticky with a proper pub vibe. Had a very cosy booth table, drinks were nicely served and the food was great tried roast beef/pork/chicken and all were excellent, not the most generous but perfectly sized for us (with the addition of the extra pigs in blankets, a great idea). Maybe a few more peas would have been good, but there were no real complaints. One of us had a burger and enjoyed it too. Excellent pub, we all had a great time and I'm sure I'll drop in more often in future."

Burger was great, perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. The fish and chips were great! Nice light batter, couldn’t tell it was gluten free! Reasonably priced. Server was nice.

Lovely traditional old fashioned pub. No Tv’s and a selection of board games in window. We had the Sunday roasts, beef and chicken and they were excellent. Friendly staff and an enjoyable visit.

Had a fantastic evening attending a private birthday event in the room upstairs atmospheric cosy space with attentive bar staff made this an exceptional evening would book this venue for future events based on this positive experience highly recommend!

Great public house in the centre of Oxford! It does great roast dinners and the fish and chips is good too! Has a great selection of free sweets for children and dog biscuits for pets! Excellent pub for watching sports, especially good environment for Rugby!

We received a friendly welcome on arrival, we hadn't booked, but there were plenty of choices of tables, we were at the pub for lunch. Order food and drinks at the bar, which is absolutely fine. We ordered roast dinners, and a burger, all we're delicious and plentiful, lovely veg with the roast dinners. Amazingly friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend a visit to this lovely pub.

We were trying to find somewhere to eat on our first night and we chose the wrong direction and wandered all around and along the river without finding somewhere. Nearly back to where we were staying and we passed this tavern. The menu was typical pub fair but not just burgers so we gave it a go. Bar staff were very welcoming and friendly, food was good and the bar just busy enough to give it some atmosphere. Very pleased we found it!
