Nice food, good portions, fair prices and no demand/presumption of a tip which appears to be becoming the norm in the UK

The Caribbean cuisine at this restaurant is truly delicious. I especially enjoyed the sautéed Jamaican ackee - it was absolutely delicious!

This small informal Caribbean restaurant was a treat to find . the service was friendly . I loved the limited menu with a good variety of dishes . Each course was well presented and tasty . The buzz of conversation with some Caribbean music in the background made for a great ambience . only one comment the wine prices were very high . we didn't have any as a result ! However the food was appropriately price for the quantity quality .

Unfortunately, my initial experience at this restaurant was not as enjoyable as I had anticipated. I ordered the veggie Rundown (stew) and a roti, both of which were decent but lacked the chili flavor I was craving. I also had some doubts about whether the dishes I received matched what was listed on the menu. However, the food tasted fresh and homemade, and the portion sizes were satisfying. Despite feeling full, I was disappointed with the rum cocktails I ordered, as they were not to my liking - one was overwhelmed by Bitters and was undrinkable. I've been going to Oxford for 3 years now and in that time to be frank struggled to find a decent go to restaurant. I can now say with delight i've found my destination. I present SPICED ROOTS a little caribbean culinary gem. The fresh perfectly cooked food is absolutely delicious and gives off that home cooked by mummy vibe and is beautifully presented. The chilli and garlic prawns had my eyes closed Mark Weins style (if you know you know) so juicy with an incredible depth of flavour, the Trini doubles not only were seasoned to perfection they left you wanting more and the Jerk chicken spring rolls were an absolute triumph.
