Really nice village pub. Nice welcome, good beer selection and great menu. The lunch time special soup was delicious and steak Baguette sandwich fresh and highly recommended. Look forward to coming back

Wow again will nailed it with his pie and steak to die for well done to the teem and thanks to my persistent moaning to get rid of old vinegar bottles and replace with sarsons my chips were even better well done

The Sunday lunch was terrific! Great portions, the meat was fantastic, a great choice of sides to accompany the roast, extra gravy as standard. Simply wonderful. Dare I say the best roast I’ve had in a long time…? We shall certainly return. Ver carta

as always. the personal is always very friendly, the menu is offered with various like 2 netzen for £12.99 and the special board changes regularly. warm, cozy, traditional pub feeling with typical pub duve and beautiful atmosphere. would definitely recommend.

We kicked off my Mum's big birthday celebrations at The Stanhope Arms and we are very satisfied customers. Mum and I received fabulous support from Caroline and her amazingTeam from the outset, from booking, handling of massive play lists, table cloths, decorations and the wonderful evening entertainment We were really pleased with the buffet, great variety of very tasty food, no-one was disappointed. Returned today for Sunday lunch with my family and sister, warm friendly atmosphere and staff welcoming. Selection of drinks is fantastic! The starters (scotch eggs especially) are amazing. The Sunday dinners are by far the best in the area, all home cooked fresh ingredients. Kids meals are of a high standard. Those looking for a non alcoholic beverage have a large selection to choose from. Can’t rate this place high enough and we will 100% be back again for another enjoyable family meal. Went with friends two couples on a recent Saturday night. The pub was very busy, but the staff were friendly and efficient, and drinks came to the table (which we’d pre booked) promptly. We ordered food shortly after the drinks, and again it came promptly (starters of garlic mushrooms on toast), then the mains : burger (huge); fish and chips (huge); risotto (plentiful); and steak and ale pie (pleasant but pie rather like Pukka Pie not very special). Dessert was delicious raspberry sundae and huge. Overall nice food and service would recommend.

We were booked into another pub, around the corner from the Stanhope arms. Both couples are not from the area, we met up at Rusty Paws as our beagle pups are brothers and we’re 1yr old the day before. We were let down badly by the pub around the corner. Less said the better…… We rang the Stanhope arms to see if we could get lunch. They were very welcoming to us and the hounds. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Our lunches came in good time and we were all pleased with the quality and quantity. Piping hot and very tasty. The Stanhope arms is a beautiful pub, very welcoming, clean and friendly.

Have driven past so many times, have said we must pop in.... so many times. No better time than Sunday Lunch. So nice not to have a huge menu to choose from, a choice of 6 ish starters, same for mains plus roasts and again 6 ish deserts. Pate was Duck and Orange with Cointreau and portion size enough for 2. Carrot Soup which made a nice change than the traditional Tomato, both starters came with a big chunk of crusty bread. Mains opted for all 3 meats (Turkey, Beef Gammon), veggies served separate which is better in our opinion and all served with potatoes, stuffing and Yorkie Pud and proper gravy.
