"Experience report: Steak restaurant “Indiana” Unfortunately, today we had the dubious pleasure of testing the so called steak restaurant “Indiana”. The visit was disappointing in many ways and leaves us wondering how such a restaurant can even exist. Atmosphere and service The atmosphere of the restaurant was passable, if not particularly inviting. Our first impression was made by the waiter, who seemed polite and attentive, which initially gave us hope for a pleasant experience. Appetizers We were served a salad as a starter, but it wasn't very convincing. The taste was characterized by a ready made sauce that was strongly reminiscent of a supermarket product. Whether it actually was such a thing remains to be seen in any case, such a product would never find space in my kitchen. main courses We ordered four different dishes: two pork dishes, spare ribs and two beef patties. Unfortunately, all dishes were equally disappointing. 1. Pork medallions The medallions were so dry that even the ready made sauce provided couldn't make them edible. Parts of it remained on the plate a sad testament to the kitchen's performance. In my 36 years, I have never been served such poorly prepared medallions. 2. Beef patties The beef patties were equally disappointing: dry, tasteless and simply inedible. Even the liberal use of pepper couldn't disguise the dryness and lack of flavor. Half of the dish remained on the plate. 3. Spare ribs The spare ribs were obviously frozen and tasted reminiscent of cheap supermarket products. There was no trace of freshness or quality. 4. Pork dish with fried potatoes The pork was also horrible and dry, only the fried potatoes could be mentioned as a bright spot. Of the four dishes ordered, two were still eaten out of pure necessity (hunger) and possibly also due to the pragmatic approach of the male companion. The other dishes remained almost untouched. Service after meal After the meal, a female waitress took over and responded to our honest criticism with rejection and excuses. She seemed unwilling to acknowledge the obvious deficiencies and tried to gloss over the poor food with implausible explanations. Even with the bill there was no compensation in the form of a schnapps or other offer to alleviate the bad impression. Instead, we only received a €10 discount after we again complained about the quality of the food. The cook herself, who was apparently also the owner, met our criticism with indifference and said she didn't care what we wrote. Conclusion This visit was a complete disappointment. The quality of the food was unbearable, the service was unprofessional and the response to criticism was simply unacceptable. For a total price of €92, we should have expected at least a minimum level of quality but this was not even close to being achieved. A restaurant with such a low standard should either make major improvements or go out of business. In its current state, “Indiana” is not recommended."

We were there on December 3rd, 2024 and ordered the baked potato with turkey and the steak plate maxi. Very tasty . Afterwards there was the nightcap “Ratzeputz”. Great steakhouse. Very nice owner and great service . We would love to come back

Fond memories of here from my time living in Celle, and when we were back in Celle as part of visiting some family back in March I made sure we went back to my favourite restaurant in the town! Great food as always, well prepared and service is always pleasant. Ver carta

They were open late and we were able to get a dinner after arriving after 22:00. But I wasn't happy with the dmeat dish I ate. The wine was also served too hot, a general problem in Europe in summer, not only here, also experienced that a few places in Montalcino, Tuscany.

I was looking forward on eating spareribs, so we were heading for a rib house. We found this restaurant that referred to Indiana and I expected that would stand for good quality hot ribs. Once we entered, it was heavily decorated with attributes that referred to Indians. Okay, Indiana - Indians... What's in the name; Indians are not known for their ribs, but maybe I'm the only one who does not see the link, more than that the names sound similar. "No ribs today, we had a bus full of Swedes last week, and they all ordered ribs, so we are sold out", the waiter said. I ordered a stake instead; Argentinean beef.... So what's in the name. The stake was Okay, but they have a problem when it comes...

"Recently I found myself in Celle again on a combined business/pleasure trip. Already having eaten at Schweine Schulze (see review there), this time we headed to Le Feu.Le Feu is situated in an old Fachwerkhaus, but that is not too unexpected as in Celle the old character and hauses have been preserved. That is until the socialist party got a majority in the city council and started to demolish old hauses. I think they were voted out before they could damage more than one street that is now an eyesore in Celle.Anyway, back to Le Feu. As the name already indicates there is a bit of a French influence, which translates itself to a lot of dishes with an Alsacian/Lorraine influence like the Elzasser Flammkuche/Tarte Flambée Alsacienne, or, in regular english: The Alsacian version of the Italian Pizza, but with a variety of toppings.The atmosphere in the restaurant was great. The owners/managers are welcoming and friendly just as the staff is. Service was prompt. Ordered several varieties of Flammkuche in sequenceI prefer the more traditional savory Flammkuche, with onions and bacon. My date had a mexican and a hawaiian. All tasted great. Though I am not really into beer, when in germany do as the germans so topped it off with some great german beer.Had a lovely evening. Bill was a pleasant surprise. Definitely good quality for your euro.Le Feu caters for people with several food allergies."
