"For a wonderful afternoon out, The Bull at Broughton is superb. Enjoy a walk around the Broughton Estate and then enjoy fine food from a traditional Sunday lunch to an varied a la carte menu. Friendly staff welcome you and it’s dog friendly too! (Need to book). Already looking forward to returning. Even if it’s for the take-away option being offered during these Covid times. 5 star! "I visited last Sunday for lunch and had an outstanding roast meat and Yorkshire pudding, accompanied by seven different vegetables. While I've seen a few negative reviews, what really stands out to me is that each plate is individually prepared by the chefs, who take great care in cooking each vegetable to order. This Sunday roast is the result of thoughtful preparation. The quality is definitely high, with beautifully cooked vegetables that enhance the meal rather than detract from it. Overall, it was absolutely worth the money!"

"What a wonderful discovery! While on our canal holiday, we docked at Low Bradley on a sunny Sunday afternoon and ventured into Bradley in search of a pub. We were thrilled to come across the Slaters, with its amazing patio perfect for a sunny day and possibly the best view I've ever seen from a pub patio. Dogs were welcome to sit outside, with plenty of water bowls provided for them. It felt a bit like a dog show, especially when we joined the crowd with our two Newfoundlands! After enjoying a couple of drinks, we took our dogs back to the boat and returned to the Slaters for dinner. We were lucky to snag a table as they were fully booked, a testament to the quality of the food. The menu offered something for everyone, from fresh fish to steaks, great vegetarian options, and Sunday roasts on the specials board. My spinach ricotta lasagne was delicious, and my partner's fish and chips disappeared in no time. The portions were generous, so we had to skip dessert, although we did indulge in a delicious garlic bread starter. I couldn't help but notice a person at the next table enjoying the homemade New York cheesecake, which looked amazing and came in a huge portion. It's funny how some really slim people can eat so much! Overall, the Slaters Arms is a fantastic pub with delicious food. I have to give a special shoutout to the landlord and landlady, who despite being busy, were friendly and welcoming, taking the time to chat with everyone. It was a refreshing change. The Slaters Arms has my vote, and we will definitely return, even though it's not particularly close to home."

"We made a reservation, which was fine, but our table was placed too close to the bar area to feel Covid-safe. By 2:30 PM, most of the menu items were sold out, including all chicken, fish and chips, steak and ale pie, and steaks, among others. Despite this, they were still accepting bookings for that evening. My partner ended up with a SMALL children's portion that included just a few chips and carrots (the peas were also unavailable). The sticky toffee pudding was good and generously portioned, but it felt like it came too late! I can’t help but wonder why the staff didn’t go out to buy more food to prepare?"

"Absolutely fantastic lunch at Le Caveau .... ambiance first class as was the service ... the food was exemplary ... this restaurant was recommended to me by their fish and seafood supplier who happens to be a golfing buddy. He explained that some chefs ask whats cheapest ... Mark the chef/proprietor of Le Caveau always ask whats best !!! Says everything really. I had, on Marks recommendation Scallops starter followed by Turbut and slow cooked shin of beef , dessert was creme brullee. My wife had grilled ballotine of black pudding with chicken and chorizo poached egg and pea veloute followed by the Roast Venison, and cheese board to finish, everything was absolutely amazing We had travelled from Blackpool for a day out in Skipton including lunch. We enjoyed it some much we have booked for our wedding anniversary at the end of the month along with an overnight stay at the Wooley Sheep pub which is a stones throw away and recommended by chef Mark, and are really looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic evening meal/anniversary occasion."
