"Had tried this as a result of good reviews. Sad to say the actual experience was somewhat rather less than this. My friend, who had been there before, did agree that this was much less than previously experienced. Perhaps the 'real ' chef had over-worked on Valentine 's Day . Doubt that we will be returning, as there are other more lovely places [riverside for example] with better food options and way better parking."

"we are regularly at the crown and love their monthly vegan nights, where the whole pub is vegan for the evening. they also run a vegan menu daily and eating is always high quality and delicious. General portions, great choice and thoughtful dishes that are not only curry or a Buddha dish. the desserts are great and they make a decent roast equivalent, as well as a delicious banana blossom fish and chips. all my non-vegan friends love the vegan food too highly recommended! dogs allowed in the garden (which is beautiful) and the bar inside. the personal is very good and well known about ingredients."

"Very Cosy old pub, nicely decorated and very quirky. Always friendly staff. Very nice atmosphere all the time we came here. The food was very delicious and reasonably priced. This pub allows to bring the dog inside. There is parking available on the road usually and it is free. Definitely recommend visiting. This pub is like a hidden gem."

"We went a table of 6. Ordered food it took ages. There was lots of empty glasses on the table assuming for wine. But we had soft drinks so the empties where not needed. Food eventually came out, but barely any space to put it down. After eating, the table was full so we piled all the empty glasses plus plates and asked for them to be removed to make space for pudding. The plates and only half the glasses got removed.. the food was OK, the kids said theirs was great. There is also a 10% service charge added, to which I asked to remove as the service just wasn't there other than piling food on an already pretty full table of empty glasses. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"Unfortunately we were disappointed with our experience here. The food was pretty cold both main and desert. The lamb shank could not be removed from the bone. Waitress said I should have been given a steak knife. I don’t think that would have helped! The staff were not very interested despite the fact when we were asked we gave our honest opinion. They could have done better. We will not be returning or recommending."
