Had a lovely experience, great food and lovely atmosphere. Chef Evans went above and beyond, can’t be faulted.

Friendly service and enjoyed food by Evans and a cheerful lady (forgot name) Was there two days and spent nights at the place.

Elirose is a bloody diamond only come in when she’s working. Shan is very sweet and helpful love her. Had a chicken avocado bacon sandwich which was nice, a bit hard to eat but nice. However the cocktail made by Elirose was delicious. Would 100% come again if Elirose is working.

Such a great change in the Sun since the new manager Adam has taken over. Yes, some of the rooms need updating but the staff are amazing. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. The food cooked by Evans is fab and Mario is so helpful. Staff go above and beyond. Thank you for a brilliant stay as usual.

Currently going through a refurb but put this aside , the staff are great here , warm , friendly and very helpful . The hotel is situated in hitchin which is a great location for bars shopping and for myself work for a few weeks .one of the main reasons to stay here is the food iris first class , served up fresh and presented well by Evans , morning for breakfast and evening for dinner , rooms are small, cosy and comfortable ,and sneed bringing up to spec with other greene king pubs hotels . I dont know what happened this day in comparison to some other reviews... This was AWFUL in all respects. Ordered the bacon and poached eggs with toasted sourbread. It was the most unappetising thing I think I've ever seen. Overcooked eggs with a very odd colour to them as if they had been cooked in dirty water, undercooked bacon, the bread had barely been shown the toaster and coffees were luke warm! The staff seemed as if they were on another planet and in need of a good nights sleep......

6 of us old school friends all in our 70's enjoyed a lovely meal. All had different mains and we cleared our plates. Food nice and hot. Fresh vegetables and nicely presented. Would have got excellent but initial waitress had no idea. We were saved by Charlie, lovely young woman. New to The Sun Hotel and on the bar but took over and served us so well. Very good value for money. We were not rushed so spent 3 hours there giving us plenty of time to catch up. Our first reunion since pre covid. Delighted. Highly recommend. Free parking a bonus on a busy market day. Just more staff training required.

Great wee hotel. Exceptional staff who were friendly, chatty, went above and beyond for everyone there, in particular Adam couldn't do enough to make sure everything was perfect for my best friends wedding. Food was lovely, drinks were well priced, free parking for guests. Beds super comfortable, rooms nicely decorated and good size, powerful shower. Everywhere was very clean. Only slight con is our en suite could do with a refurb and the lighting wasn't great in our room, but considering how great everything else was, it's such a small con.
