Taste It Polish - Carta

Fantastic food and service. We really enjoyed our evening there. The portions are of good size too. Possibly the best Polish food we had in the UK.

The food was amazing, great atmosphere and professional staff. I've been there for the Christmas party with friends and it was lovely and the dishes were served with a good brake in between so you could eat them all at the end.

Found this little gem by mistake. In hotel overnight and came across this little restaurant in town. Really nice friendly staff. Excellent value for money my meal was under £20 and I could not finish it. A piece of advise if you want to eat 2 courses go when you are starving. Ver carta

My husband and I took my mother here for lunch. The food was excellent. Large portions and beautifully home cooked. My mother's desert was massive. We bever thought she would manage to eat it all . She did because sge said it was too good to waste. Everything was delicious. Service with a smile and excellent value for money. We will be back soon.

We went there again after a long break enforced by COVID. The decor has changed for the better, the food is still superb, the service attentive and exceptionally friendly. There were four adults, one teenager and one toddler in our party. We had three different main courses and all of them were delicious. Only three of us were up to having a dessert and all have apple cake to die for.

We were wandering around the center of Hatfield and found this place by chance. I’m very happy we found it. The restaurant seems like a small organization, but it runs perfectly. The lady in the restaurant was genuinely friendly. Only downside was that some dishes weren’t available. We started with zurek, my favorite Polish soup. Delicious. Then we had pierogi with chicken and pork. I loved it. I doubt I will ever make it back to Hatfield, so they will not see me again, but I do recommend the restaurant. Ver carta

I had not been out for a Polish before and I was extremely impressed with this one. The traditional rye soup with sausage and egg served with bun (roll) was the best soup that I have ever had ever. The port stew with potato pancakes served with sour cream and sour cucumber was much less stew-like and much more filling than I had expected. I could not manage a pudding. The food was brilliant, the service was really good and the lady who sat alone at a table, facing out of the window, turned out to be anti-socially waiting her dining buddy and was not a detective after all. This is a brilliant place and it is easy to park behind (for free after six).

We were staying in a near by hotel and wanted an early dinner so booked here. We were gerated by a lovely young lady given a menu which we read with delight while she bought us our drinks. Hubby ordered Pierogi with chicken and pork, huge tasty portion, I ordered Beetroot soup with mini dumplings of cabbage and mushrooms delicious. To follow I had the stewd pork on potato pancakes which defeated me, and hubby had breaded chicken fillet with mashed potatoes and the most amazing vegetable salad, he hates veg normally but lived these and he was also defeated, shame because he wanted to try creps for dessert. We live 50 miles away but when in the area will definitely return for another early din...

Good food and a friendly, laid-back service. All the traditional favourites are there in the menu, the portions are Polish (i.e. generous! and the prices very reasonable indeed. Preparation time wasn't instant. That's because the dishes are based on fresh ingredients prepared on the premises from scratch. To check this out, I chose Placki Ziemniaczane: a dish of 7 crispy potato pancakes served with sour cream, (though you can have them Hungarian-style with a pork goulash too . When I make them at home, I cheat by using Knorr powdered potato... these on the other hand were properly made, by grating potatoes very finely indeed– they took 20 minutes, and were exactly right: light, crisp and del...
