"Good food and a friendly, laid-back service. All the traditional favourites are there in the menu, the portions are Polish (i.e. generous! and the prices very reasonable indeed. Preparation time wasn't instant. That's because the dishes are based on fresh ingredients prepared on the premises from scratch. To check this out, I chose Placki Ziemniaczane: a dish of 7 crispy potato pancakes served with sour cream, (though you can have them Hungarian-style with a pork goulash too . When I make them at home, I cheat by using Knorr powdered potato... these on the other hand were properly made, by grating potatoes very finely indeed– they took 20 minutes, and were exactly right: light, crisp and delicious. Filling though– I took two of them home! Total cost £6.50. Though it appears unpretentious, it offers some excellent specialities as well as the Polish basics: try their Duck Leg Confit served in its roast jus, accompanied with Silesian Potato Dumplings and grated beetroot. Their Pork Tenderloin served with a Chanterelle sauce and a juicy carrot salad looks wonderful too. I was driving, so their basic range of wines, and some interesting cocktails, were alas, left unsampled..."

"A slightly bizarre experience we were welcomed warmly, taken to our table, and given a menu for pre dinner drinks. No food menus were brought. We ordered drinks, which arrived, but still no menus! So we asked for them. No wine list brought. So we asked for one. All rather odd. The starters were mixed a bland crab risotto, a rather vinegary tartare, an excellent parfait and a crispy egg which needed to be runnier, but was tasty, if too salty. The odd service continued: three of the four of us had finished do the waiter cleared our plates including the one of our friend who hadn’t finished, who was left holding a cracker in her hand! The mains were again mixed and generally over salty. The ravioli were excellent; the steak good but in a sauce which was heavy handed on the seasoning, the fish pleasant, again slightly salty and verging on the overcooked. We had chocolate soufflé for pudding generally well made and tasty, but again the service was odd an ice cream was pushed into it at the table by the waiter which caused a good amount of soufflé to fall inelegantly onto the serving plate; the cheese plate was an interesting but small selection of well kept cheese. Good petit fours (though we were surprised that one containing nuts was offered to us all despite one of us not eating nuts, which we had mentioned). So probably four stars over all, but only just. It’s good to see the restaurant open again but based on this experience, while it’s fine dining, it’s got some way to go to reach the standard of cooking I’m sure they’d like to aspire to."

"My family and I have been coming here for years and we absolutely love it here. My mum orders the same every time she goes in here, and they remember her order every time we went in there yesterday, one of the waiters sees my mum walking in and says ‘someone get this woman a cheese omelette with chips!’ it made us laugh! It’s so lovely to watch how this little cafe has grown in popularity over the years, it’s the best! We love you cafe trio"

"Haven't used this place for around 6 years due to previous poor service but decided to give them another go yesterday. I ordered through Uber eats and received a notification to say it would be between 25-45 minutes. As it was a Friday night and I knew it would be busy I did not chase them until approx 90 min after placing the order, I was told they were busy but it was on its way, one of their drivers had the order and he would be another 5-10 minutes. Another 30 min later I called back again to complain, the guy was arguing with me as though it was somehow unfair of me to be putting them under pressure, food eventually turned up over 2 hours after ordering.On a positive note, the food was good once I'd reheated it in the oven, which took a further 20 minutes. Needless to say we won't be using again for at least another 6 years"

"The worst Indian food I order! The lamb was not eatable at all and the sos was horrible and lots of money as well? The fish ? Where? Not even one piece? And the vegetables samosas were way to spicy?Deffff a bad experience and lots of money! Not reccomend it!.....please check I ordered on uber eat? UPDATE....UPDATE....I did explain in my review what happened but just eat never post it? So again .....warm food.....onion bhaji not cooked.....and the rest was just tasteless....no flavour....only chilli! And you put the coca cola next to the food? Bad.....so I don't know why my review is not posted on just eat but I already complained. To be honest I ordered again just because of the reviews ! Very spicy food!? Way to spicy! I do order about the food and not about the polite?!!!!..So all together a BIG NO! I WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND IT!?"

"What an amazing place. We found it completely by accident whilst looking for somewhere to break the journey home from Anglesey to the South Coast. The team were hosting the local shoot, alongside a village Trick Or Treat extravaganza when we arrived! So lovely to see a pub that is truly still at the heart of the local community. Despite the fact the staff were really busy, and the pub was overflowing, we were made very welcome, the room was amazing, as was dinner, and nothing was too much trouble. Now we have found you, we WILL be back!! Thank you so much for a lovely stay."

"Firstly I'm from Leicester and I have worked at 2 of the top 5 restaurants in the late 80s. We walked in and the first thing we were told was we close at 2.30. man with stubble) From the start we were felt rushed. Then on asking if they do hot drinks I was told no but I'll come back to that later. He bought a straw for my granddaughter, after dropping the straw he still gave the same straw. This leads me to believe, if dry food was dropped it would still be served. I'm a reviewer and I do review good or bad. We had a different person taking our order older chap with less hair. He was more helpful and did not rush us. Food ranged average to below average. Prawns were very tasty. When we finish the first person bought my granddaughter chocolates. I paid at the counter to the third person. Just before I left I saw a coffee machine. I asked him if they did coffee and he replied with a yes. Originally I was scoring a 1. The person who took our order improved the score. If they don't want customers in the last hour they should close the door. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2"

"We have been coming to VITA for years as the SERVICE THE FOOD has always been TOP CLASS however our most recent visit was like being part of the cast in a episode of FAWLTY TOWERS.We were NOT GREETED on arrival as the staff were ARGUING about someone’s order.Eventually we were taken upstairs to our table to which had no cutlery on it and not even wiped down . We like a restaurant with a good ATMOSPHERE but not due to the fact not bothering to replace BLOWN LIGHTBULBS.There we’re just 3 light bulbs covering the upstairs. Eventually the table was set from retrieving cutlery from other tables. There was always lovely WHITE TABLE CLOTHS on the tables a lit candle and a small flower arrangement this is all been replaced by DIRTY TABLES. After about 20 minutes we were asked if we would like a drink. The selection of DRINKS is very POOR now . We were given our menus and made our selection. One of the meals was wrong. Parts of the meals were OF POOR QUALITY ie Italian sausage pasta meal is now ROLLED-UP MINCE MEAT. People on the other table were disappointed by the quality of there meals and their meal was wrong. At this point we couldn’t wait to leave. Then we were informed that it’s CASH ONLY. We couldn’t believe it my husband had to go outside and find a cash point machine. Seems to me you only want cash if your RUNNING THE BUSINESS INTO THE GROUND so that you can RUN OFF WITH THE MONEY and the TAX MAN doesn’t know where the money is . Normally we would go back to this restaurant as everybody has a off night but we don’t think it will be open much longer"

"The staff at this restaurant are exceptionally friendly and the tables are nicely spaced out. We tried the tasting menu and it was absolutely incredible and very filling. There is plenty of parking available outside. Despite the busy bar when we first arrived, the bartender served everyone quickly, apologized constantly, and had a smile on her face the entire time. We are excited to come back again."

"I met my sister at midday for lunch met by a lovely guy with a big genuine smile who ask what I wanted to drink I was a bit harrased coming back from hospital we sat by the window ordered a cappuccino and a lemon drink. got it straight away fairly quiet then came back to take our order then within an hour getting very busy but we had best customer service food on time delicious and it turned out they were very short staffed the manager served us and another lovely lady and nothing to much trouble thank u. Fab we will be back excellent customer service"

"We received a warm welcome from Ellie on arrive. She couldn’t have been more friendly. We loved our room which was unique and had a special feel. We also used the restaurant and was served by Josh who really looked after us. My wife and I had a lovely stay topped off by a wonderful breakfast next day. "We ate at lunch today and were handed a menu with no mention of the lunch offer , which included a glass of wine beer soft drink and coffee . As we haven’t been for a while we assumed they no longer did the offer . The food was all good , 3 pizzas and the Agnolotti pasta dish was really tasty . We also had 3 soft drinks and a beer . When paying our bill we noticed an extra charge which we queried and were told one of the items had a surcharge for the lunch offer menu ! . Given we knew nothing about this offer it didn’t make sense . On enquiring further we were told some of our soft drinks weren’t included and it meant we didn’t qualify for the offer , so we are very confused as to how could we incur a surcharge . At no point was any of this explained to us before , or at the time of ordering as we would have been more than happy to have had a drink that was included in the offer . The waiting staff apologized and said we should have been told and I agree . If you are going to do a lunchtime offer you need to make it clear what’s included , both on the menu and at the time of ordering , as we left feeling we had overpaid for what we received and it will make us think twice about returning."

"a late Sunday dinner almost sunday tea. another one wants to meet and his good lady. big demand after Sunday lunch in welwyn, but this place is a regular place for will. he likes the ak bitter. but it is a mild, as the hahn shows, is a mild strength, it is one of these mild, so unusual to northen a new experience for me to south. so to the food, a lammy where the meat falls of the bone, beautiful. massive yorkshire pudding, frying whip and a typical cautious eating question for our waiter, what are the seasonal vegetables carrots (zick), heaps (zick) and kale, all mixed together' what? it turns out that the red carrots were quite easy. the carrots were so abnormal points for it, redeemed by slightly extra engraving,some good sweets, apple pudding but marmelade poly was irresistible. I asked extra custard how I knew I could be done! the food and the brewery are local, long time since I had a Sunday dinner."

"Well….where do I start!!!!! After reading many of the already horrendous reviews for this place ….I was compelled to be as honest as I could. Seemed really nice to start with and after being cooped up for so long due to the restrictions , we were really looking forward to a nice night out with friends. The food smelt lovely but we had incorrect dishes , dishes missing , and when we asked politely twice, the attitude of the staff wasn’t great in the slightest. We know mistakes happen and feel we were as accommodating and understanding as possible but when you as the customer should be right to a degree you don’t expect the staff to give attitude to you. In my experience ….the very little times we have ever had to mention any issues with the meal, they have bent over backwards to rectify as they want your custom again. From the reviews I’ve read ….this doesn’t seem to be their style and clearly not bothered whether you come back or not. I don’t think we will be returning because we all felt quite uncomfortable. A real shame because the surroundings were nice"

"had a nice evening in the roti house. the food was very good and they even adapted it to our taste! the chili garlic mogo is the best I ever had and the watermelone martini was so refreshing! the service was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive even during the busy times. on the back of the restaurant is also a well-built Shisha lounge. aditya, atul and the rest of the team, keep up the good work and we are happy to visit again soon."

"I have visited many Indian restaurants across the UK and I was thoroughly impressed by the food at this particular restaurant. We ordered Chicken Lollipop which was incredibly tasty. Additionally, we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Chop curry along with Garlic Cheese naan and Garlic Chilli naan. The curries were exceptionally delicious. We opted for the Chicken Tikka Masala to be made spicier by adding fresh chillies, and it was wonderfully flavorful. However, the standout dish of the night was the Lamb Chop Curry. The flavors were exceptional, the meat was tender and cooked perfectly. The service was also excellent. My partner and I frequent Hatfield often and we will definitely be returning to this restaurant. I believe the score does not accurately reflect the quality of the food. Overall, we were very impressed with the meal."
