"I've been here twice because suggested by a friend. I'm an extremely steaks lover and in both of my visits i asked for a steak. The first time it was just served with a wrong temperature ,MW instead of MR ..but it was replaced quickly with another one even if it was quite a thin steak..fine!!. The second time it has been a nightmare for my palat and especially for my sense of smell as the steak it was really smelly asking a member of the sraff to smell to confirm that i wasn't crazy....and ofc served again at the wrong temperature. This time no replacement it was offered and Ofc i left the pub disappointed and starving. The staff was nice both of the times but ensure how to manage the situation. If u want to go here,GO..they are making bice cocktails at the roof top but definitely don't ask for steaks.Show less"

Had a couple of beers here with a friend hadn't been in the pub for twenty years, hadn't really changed except they served food. I had a burger, somebody should teach them in the kitchen there is an art to a great burger. Ver carta

Great atmosphere with a good selection of drinks and friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend for a drink after work with friends if you are in Wimbledon. Outside seating is next to a road, however, so don't expect a quiet garden.

Visited the Alex for our weekly Sunday roast. The roast was good. The staff behind the bar were really friendly. I would have rated it 4/5 stars however the only thing letting it down was the gap between the starter and main course (roughly 45 mins).

visited last Saturday, 8. january. we had booked 18 people for dinner. I would like to thank all those who helped to make it a great night. the various meals were served in good time and were hot and delicious. the bar staff were great and did not have to wait to serve, despite the pub really busy. everyone enjoyed the dj and danced to late. we will definitely go back soon.

There are many great pubs in Wimbledon, but this is the best or one of the top picks for most of the people. I prefer the Loft in the first floor in the evening in all four seasons of the year. It is lively in Summer with open space, and it becomes a warm and cozy cabin in Winter. Good beer selection and cocktails just like other pubs in the vicinity. But for some reason this always feels like the right place for some reason.

"only at chez bruce ate, because our original choice to the jubilee dinner (thames river cruise) was cancelled at short notice after we had already booked our hotel: in wandsworth. instead of canceling the whole trip to london, I decided to try cb and see if they could fit us as they were only about 30 minutes away from our hotel. it was a Tuesday night when we were able to get in. I have bruce poole cookbook so was very excited to taste the restaurant and eating was really good. very similar to la trumpet in chiswick and I think they share. my starter of enoki mushroom salad with romaine, rump and comte was enormous. my cousin also thought her makrelenrillettes were first class. we have rejoined our head; I choose the hain that was outstanding again. my cousin complained that her pork was too much meat and not enough of something else. she was again on board with the dessert of white chocolate jerk and rusty ice cream. I had the cheeseboard that was good, but I had better. good wine list, with a little decent half bottle. However, the bottle was ordered by pomerol i was not available, but the sommelier hit an alternative, cheaper bottle that was very good. brot was very nice. service was okay, not great. there were some stretch before us to pour wein, to take plates that were both my cousin and I annoyed. but this little grip aside, I thought £200 without wein was pretty good."
