Since they only serve breakfast, we had to find food from nearby hotels or drive to Hexham. Fortunately, we were able to find options to fulfill our dining needs during our stay.

Only here can you not use your card to pay for less than a fiver....really...most places don't accept cash anymore! Place quite full, staff not overly concerned or engaged with me. Pint OK, left quickly.

Called in to meet family and Well we've had better welcomes was accused of been druggies truth is my partner has and is recovering from throat cancer but was judged on appearance and when said what was what was told we don't care and its not there problem very rude from start to finish from customer to staff

Could barely get through the door for having to step over the huge dog lying in the way can’t comment on food as we were refused as we were told kitchen was closed even though a customer at the bar was tucking into his sandwich fries. Obviously chooses to serve who they want to. Do not recommend at all. Very unprofessional

Just had the best Sunday dinner yet from the anchor hotel and I have had a few . Good quality and massive portions, I couldn’t eat it all , My waitresses today Elise and Maddison were absolutely fantastic, they were very professional . The dinning room was very clean and tidy ... and most of all the anchor is still giving us fantastic value for money. Well done anchor hotel

We had a family meal on 28/11/19 at this restaurant that is the local favorite of my parents who live in Haydon Bridge. They have always raved about this place and tonight, my brother and I can see why. We were seated in the dining room (snug) to the left of the bar where the fire was burning, creating a very cozy atmosphere. We all ordered the hake - two with crushed potatoes and pesto, and two with white wine sauce and tempura prawns. The portions were very generous and the food was all excellent. The staff were wonderful and took great care of us. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem after our usual Sunday lunch spot in Corbridge was fully booked. As we were driving through Haydon Bridge, we saw a hotel across the river and decided to check it out. Upon entering, we were greeted at the door and taken to a table with a view of the river. We ordered two adult Sunday roasts and a child's Sunday roast. The meals arrived promptly, accompanied by two large serving bowls filled with mash and roast potatoes, as well as carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, and baby sweet corn. Staying locally so booked here for Dinner. Right on the river, which is lovely. Inside its nothing to right home about, I even started to question why my husband had booked this. We waited a while to be served, in fact, others came in after us and were served before us, this is something I don't like. Tried to order steak but was told they didn't have any, so got 2 x burgers, 1 x fish chips and 1 x steak/kidney pie. The food came and the portions were huge and the food was gorgeous. We are here on Monday evening and had a delicious meal. Started with shared nachos and then I had a special of chicken breast with dauphinoise potatoes and hubby had the steak and ale pie. The chicken was moist and tasty and the dauphinoise and other vegetables were perfectly cooked and delicious. Gravy was served separately in a sauce boat! The pie was fantastic big flaky pastry crust on top of a pan filled to the top with big chunks of meat and mushrooms. So many times have been disappointed with poor fillings at other venues only a few pieces of meat swimming in gravy but this was exceptional! And tender too!
