Nice proper pub grub very tasty and you get a lot for your money. Good selection of beers, the staff are extremely friendly and very attentive. Well worth a visit or two.

Went to Sunday lunch couple with two dogs. Water provided for dogs immediately. Timothy Taylor Landlord was exceptional. Two Sunday Roasts so much meat the dogs had dinner too. Great service and a friendly atmosphere.

Visited yesterday for the first time and decided to try the set lunch menu, which, at £12.50, was amazingly good value! The cottage pie was superb and packed with flavour and the service was also excellent! We will definitely visit again! Ver carta

I want to thank the Anchor management and staff for hosting my husband's funeral wake at 'The Moorings' function building. Everything was perfect - the buffet food was delicious and the bar staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this venue.

I recently visited The Anchor for the first time and was thoroughly impressed by what a charming pub it is. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent. The menu offered a wide variety of options at very reasonable prices. Overall, a fantastic pub!

I had my first meal at this restaurant today and tried the Roast dish. It was absolutely delicious, and the beef was cooked perfectly, sliced just right. The staff was very friendly, especially the lady named Sue who went out of her way to accommodate us on a busy day. Thank you so much. Ver carta

great quality of food and choice, the staff very friendly and attentive,the price very reasonable including drinks' could not fault in any way, we will be returning and next time i will be having the steak pudding it looked amazing, if you drive there is a large free car park included ,rai station only a short walk away , buses stop right outside ,overall excellent and highly recommended

What a little gem this is, not our first visit but first for lunch, we picked the lunch time menu, 3 courses for £12.50 expecting smaller portions but were we surprised, starter Mozzarella sticks and soup of the day, both excellent, main course great choice we went for shepherds pie, well never have we had such a large portion, nicely balanced between meat and vegetable, absolutely tasteful, finally dessert, rhubarb and apple crumble, asked for smaller portion because we were so full, will definitely be coming again, well done The Anchor and especially our waiter Matthew

Went with about a dozen friends for our Christmas lunch get together. We were seated and then the menus were given out to each of us. No sign of any Christmas fare on it whatsoever, frankly I felt like standing up and leaving. We asked if they had a Christmas menu and lo and behold they brought one out, 3 courses at £33.99 about twice the price of the items on the other menu. I am diabetic and 3 courses would have put my glucose very much over the limit. Thus I only had the main course, not very special, there was gristle on the turkey and the 2 roast potatoes had obviously been warmed up again, but had to pay for 3 courses. I did not wish to cause a fuss amongst my colleagues, but certainly... Ver carta
