The Antelope - Carta

Great cask beer and great food. Went here for dinner outside. The wild mushroom tortellini was divine! Definitely a great place to go for an outdoor pint or meal (and inside is fantastic).

Beautiful interior and the pub atmosphere you want. Classy but casual. I only had a lemonade, but my colleagues all said their alcoholic drinks tasted perfect. Lots of ales were on tap and detailed drinks menu, which was descriptive and accessible for anyone unfamiliar with alcohol. Ver carta

Massive Tooting boozer. Used to avoid in its Jack Beards/Forrester's days because of its grim reputation. Now it's mostly teachers and other young Tooting types. Fast service, good range of beers, lots of people eating although we were just in for drinks. Small fact. My parents had their wedding reception in here sixty years ago.

I'll admit, I haven't actually had the drinks here but I will say this- the staff here are great. My friend and I were without phone service,in desperate need of a taxi and the bartender not only helped us hail a taxi but even came out to ensure we got in the correct one. If I ever make it back to that end of London, would definitely drop in for a pint and bite to eat!

last week we finally picked up the keys to our first house in london. it was a few months of much stress, but it was worth it all at the end! . after picking up the keys we thought we would try a local pub / restaurant to dinner. we don't know tooting yet very well, so it's exciting to explore a new area and find out what culinary delights it has in store. so far I was only in chicken shop I wrote about. The pub setting is nice, it's clean and well decorated with a nice beer garden. I'm not sure the beer is well kept though, as I tried two different pints, both of which I drink frequently, and they both tasted very off. My food arrived after the rest of my table had finished eating, despite me ordering first. The food itself was a little bland and just seemed rushed (as I had to ask where my food was). No compensation was offered.

That's nice. it is also a huge place. a series of large rooms that seem to go up and down. so it was easy to find a table, they will serve them wherever it seems. what, while great, makes them wonder how this works in practice (i.e. when there are many people who order at once on Sunday lunch etc.). we were there on a Thursday evening, it was quite quiet and we were thrilled for three courses. interestingly, there is a series of quite challenging main courses and the obvious rib eye steak. the only thing you sell. not very adventurous people in tooting or an estimate of the rest of the menu? the code absolutely beautiful. superb piece fish beautiful...read more
