"After a long shopping day we were looking for something to eat nearby and this caught our eye. We were so hungry that even an ordinary sandwich would suit, but this was so much more! I would never have expected such delicious food and amazing service from such a small place in this location. They put so much love and creativity in making the menu, lots of different choices and surprisingly tasty combinations! Service is very fast and friendly. Feels like you go somewhere on a trip and there is a food fair, where the owners are so lovely and friendly, can talk for hours and make delicious food Would definitely visit again when shopping in this location! You guys need to open a chain of such restaurants around the city!"

"sat in and this is the restaurant called prana. this is the most magical place, beautifully decorated and fabulous staff, but eating. difficult to put in cake, but a wonderful menu and cooked to perfection. we had monks curry and tandoori duck, both were delicious, but the duck was nothing less than incredible. worth visiting to see a place."

"I had a fantastic experience at Norton House hotel after my reservation at Dalmahoy hotel was cancelled last minute. Claire, who dealt with upset customers from Dalmahoy, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our stay stress-free. The spa facilities were clean, modern, and stocked with Elemis skincare products. The breakfast service was excellent with a wide variety of fresh food options. Overall, Norton House hotel exceeded my expectations with their exceptional customer service, facilities, and kindness. This will definitely be my go-to place when I visit Edinburgh in the future."

"we have an impromptu lunch. we had to find a waiter to take our order. the starters took old and were tasteless. I even had to wait until my best come after they brought my starter. we were not asked if we were in order for drinks between the curses. the mains took forever! Soggy batteries on my partner fish. my head was pleasant, but eating is just a little overpriced for what it is. we were never asked if everything was in order with our meal. a really nice environment and friendly staff, but bad price-performance ratio not the largest customer service. not even asked on the way out when everything was in order with our meal! they like to take their money .. repaid the obligatory surcharge. will not be back..."

"In would say the four star rating at the time of this review is about right, perhaps a 3.7 or so to be more precise... I've had a bit better, but I've certainly had far worse. I went for the Filet with Haggis and a Whiskey Cream Sauce... I don't know what it is about me, but anything paired with haggis is a must try! I must admit it actually worked well. The steak was probably cooked a bit more than I expected for medium rare, but it was quite nice in the middle and to be honest is closer to how I tend to like it... it just seems in the UK medium rare usually equates to what I would consider medium... I'm not sure if this is a US thing or a southern thing, but over the years it seems a pretty consistent observation. (Side note, two of my coworkers said the steaks were cooked a bit better on their last visit, attributing it to being slower that particular evening versus quite busy this visit. The roast potatoes were also good, nice and crisp, with the vegetables being a bit of a let down... not terrible, just your standard sprinkle of mixed vedge. (Having a decent flavour in their defence, if vegetables could actually have a defence. As a starter the group had garlic bread (one with cheese and one without ... they were the flat almost pizza type, but again... pretty good. Having willpower for once I only sampled a dessert, vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso, but I was impressed with the sample and the number of offerings. The same can be said for the main menu, there was a lot on offer which can sometimes be a warning sign and luckily didn't seem to be this time... everyone was happy enough with what they ordered. The service was perfectly adequate and just friendly enough, and the place itself is also fine. I think the big thing with this place was that perhaps my expectations were raised a bit high based on some of the reviews, so tread carefully if you're expecting fireworks... that said, if you're looking for a decent Italian meal and are in the area it's certainly worth a try... I wouldn't say no if invited back."
