Great place for lunch. Plenty of choice from the reasonably priced menu. Attentive efficient staff contribute to the experience.

Fabulous evening celebrating my partner's birthday. The staff were excellent and the food was amazing with so much choice. Compliments to the chef(s) and not forgetting Mark and Michelle for their super hospitality. We will be back.

When I entered the restaurant, it was quite busy and had a nostalgic feel reminiscent of the 1970s. The staff were friendly and the menu had a wide variety of options. I decided to order half ribs and half chicken, but unfortunately the chicken was very dry. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I am unsure if I would return. Ver carta

First visit here and really impressed us. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food we had was really good , husbands had the faggots and they said they were very tasty, we had Beef Bolognese and that was really good and the Vegetarian Lasagne was excellent. We had desserts and they were all really good too. The overall experience was first class and we all agreed we would definitely return. Would definitely recommend.

We went to the Black Boy yesterday for Sunday lunch with friends and it was outstanding! We were greeted by Michelle with a warm smile that immediately made us feel welcome. Despite the restaurant being busy, we were treated like special guests during the four hours we were there. The menu is extensive, but the food is freshly cooked and beautifully presented, making each dish feel like a signature dish. The service was excellent, with friendly and well-trained staff overseen by Michelle. And most importantly, the prices were very reasonable, offering great value for money. Thank you to Michelle and the rest of the team for the wonderful hospitality.

Place was almost empty, so we sat down at table and I went to get the drinks and menu, when a gentleman Came bounding over to me demanding have I booked a table when I said I hadn 't he said you should wait at the door to be seated, (there is no sign to say this), after a bit of huffing and puffing he agreed that we could stay where we were already seated, he asked me if we were eating, I said yes I was just going to the bar to get drinks and menu, he just barked sit down table service only to which I said, so it 's not pub anymore, I had the jumbo cod , or should I say one piece of fish and half of another, which had obviously already been cooked and then re-cook , I have been here many tim...
