"I went to The Fairie Tree for Mother’s Day after booking a table four weeks in advance. We were seated quickly and our drink and food orders were taken promptly. The menu offered basic pub grub, nothing fancy or a la carte. My three teenagers ordered haddock and chips, while I opted for the chicken and leek dish. A large party of 8 was seated nearby and their starters arrived quickly. However, we had been waiting for 20 minutes since ordering our food. After waiting for 50 minutes to an hour, I finally had to flag down a waitress to inquire about our food. She discovered that our order had not gone through to the chef due to a computer error, without offering an apology. Our food eventually arrived after another 20 minutes, which was decent but nothing special. When my son wanted dessert, it took another 10-15 minutes to get someone's attention. He ordered sticky toffee pudding, which again took 30 minutes to arrive even though the restaurant was not busy. We were about to give up on the dessert when the chef informed the waitress it was ready. There was no apology for the delay. When we asked for the bill, we didn't receive any sort of reduction for the poor service. The staff did not seem interested in addressing our concerns, and overall the service was slow and unfriendly. The food was overpriced and mediocre. I do not plan on returning as the experience was disappointing."

"We had a meal here in mid-October after spending the whole day driving to Scotland. By the time we arrived, we were eager for something to eat and drink. Our accommodation recommended the Faerie, which was conveniently just up the road. Fortunately, when we got there, they had one table available. We decided to share a starter and ordered their burgers for the main course. The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portion sizes that left us unable to finish everything. Everything was perfectly cooked. My partner, who isn’t usually one to rave about meals out, has been talking about how it was one of the best burgers he's had in years, even weeks later! It’s a shame we live so far away; otherwise, we would definitely go back for another meal!"

"after a beautiful walk in the forest of the queen for lunch. we had a dog with us and couldn't be welcomed anymore. we have the brunch menu. I had the little court and chips my daughter had eier benedict both dishes were delicious, the little fish was a decent size after we had scene with jam the scene, although small and shape were delicious. our server steph could not have been more beautiful and our dog loved the nice man who brought her cookies. good value of 5"

"Today, we went to this pub for lunch without any network coverage to check reviews for other restaurants in Crianlarich. We took a chance based on the large sign outside advertising 'fish and chips', which was what I was in the mood for. Upon entering the pub, we were initially unimpressed as it felt dark and dingy. Despite this, we decided to stay due to hunger. My husband ordered the steak pie, which he found to be average. I opted for the haddock and chips, but unfortunately, I did not enjoy it. The batter was too thick and not cooked properly, so I could only eat the peas, chips, and white of the fish. I raised my concerns with the server, who dismissed it as a one-off incident. However, this is not much consolation as I will not be returning to this pub."

"Steak and ale pies were absolutely stunning, a rich sauce that had us mopping up our plates and it was all we could do not to lick them after. Fish and chips were crisp to perfection, with good quality haddock. All four of us were in stitches and holding onto every word shared by the part owner who made us feel incredibly at home the minute we stepped through the door. Quick service, the barman was friendly, and we left with a rich knowledge of the history of the building and its surroundings. Sounds like there are exciting projects in the pipeline for future accommodation and it can only get better with so much love and care put into the place. Thanks for giving us a wonderful beginning to our holiday!!!"
