"Visited tonight with 3 adults and a dog , took table in the garden. Place does need a bit of TLC but waitress and landlord gave us a cheery welcome and seeing as we were early for food they said we could order anyway so...it was first in kitchen . Great brie starter very hot and fresh , scampi and chips hunters chicken and burger all served quickly and hot and fresh . Landlord served food shared a few jokes about the teenager doing the washing up . Good pint aswell. This is a country pub that welcomes dogs and serves great food at good prices x"

The restaurant offers excellent food and service, with a complimentary car park available. I highly recommend trying the Sunday roast, lemon parfait, pistachio soufflé, and ice cream.

The bartender is definitely in the wrong profession, lacking both a welcoming attitude and communication skills. It took a long time to receive our food from the moment we ordered, and there are better dining options available.

fantastic pub, wonderful eating and really nice staff. I had a mushroom tea to begin, and then the pigglock that my partner had to whistle and then the torte. for dessert I had baked apples with calvados crumbs and my partner had sticky toffee pudding Ver carta

The restaurant was absolutely stunning. My friend and I visited for Sunday dinner, with him opting for the Sunday roast and me choosing the moules mariniére. Both dishes were delicious. For dessert, we tried the broken pistachio soufflé and mango and pineapple. While I wasn't a huge fan of the dressing, it's just a matter of personal preference and there was nothing wrong with it.

After visiting a popular local restaurant, I was thoroughly impressed. Despite not having made a reservation, the service was exceptional - very attentive and polite. The food was delicious and offered at reasonable prices. We opted to share a large plate with a variety of sides instead of each ordering our own entrees, and we were very satisfied. For dessert, we tried the pear dish and it was fabulous. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

I have visited the Black Horse a couple of times in the last few weeks. Nothing was too much trouble and we well looked after. Most recently it was with a group of friends and I would like to say a special thank you to Elle. All the food was good except the burgers which were very dry. The waitress did however offer replacement meals so none of us needed to go hungry. Hope the squid salad goes back on a future menu and looking forward to returning. Ver carta

treating school evenings, what a gorgeous night first greeted by the maitre de and he was very personable his friendly attitude and extreme knowledge of wein and the menu was excellent because you were a real star varied menu and my partner and I make sure we eat it differently so we can try it all and eat jealous about the table on all appetizing starter and dessert souffle are both. the jazz music was very relaxed and dominated the night when leaving, I booked again for 4 weeks, as the enjoyable night must be repeated

Visited with the family, barmaid friendly. Ordered quickly as the kitchen was closing, big mistake as should have looked around first flies and sticky tables. We all ordered paninis, after half an hour they came out, and were lukewarm and the rolls seemed uncooked.. not toasted at all. Chips were half cooked. Daughter ordered a hot pork (warmed in the microwave) panini which was dry, it looked and smelt like dog food. I wish someone would have come to ask us how our food was at the time. Should have sent it back in hindsight.

"Really nice pub would return if i lived in the area. Visited for a beer and some food with wife and infant daughter, large carpark, is located at the top of the hill, staff and the locals were very welcoming. Nice selection of ales lagers and spirits. Restaurant section looked to be closed, but the lounge was bright and modern finish. Pub menu was served as per the website but they had a nice choice of specials. Had the special starter peri peri chicken samosa with pickled molis, perfect balance of curried samosa, sharp pickled mooli and spicey peri, came with an interesting almost experimental bread and charcoal garlic butter, mmm yummy main was a wholesome hearty gaint yorkshire brimmed with onion gravey and sausages dressed with a herby oil and fries on the side, was perfectly portioned for a big fella like me, may be too much for some, but a brilliant meal. Finished off with a white chocolate raspberry blondie, with a tart raspberry coolis and custard. Wife had the burger was thick and tasty, nicely seasoned. Daughter had a big portion of fish fingers and chips. Table services was efficient and friendly. Locals were nice to talk to aswell. We all left happy and full, would recommend. Parking: Big lot next to the pub would fit about 12 designated drivers Kid-friendliness: Had kids chair available, changing facilities in the disabled, large selection on the kids menu. Friendly staff, welcomed kids as well as adult. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot"

"Me and my wife popped in for a drink after shopping and realised that Millers had recently been taken over. You can tell the new owners have put some money into the decor and even had a live singer on which was a nice change from before. We had a look at the menu which was small compared to the previous but sounded nice. Unfortunately, from there is where the evening turned sour. I went to the bar to order some food and was left standing waiting to be served for around 10 minutes with staff just ignoring me. I would like to mention I was the only person stood at the bar and three members of staff were there but no acknowledgement. Not even we will just be a minute which I felt was rude. I do understand that they did have large Christmas parties in and most likely were understaffed but still just that they would be a minute would of been nice alternatively hire more staff for busy days before taking bookings. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait for food, which was understandable. It was actually 60 minutes, and when the food arrived, we had to help ourself to napkins and cutlery as we were left. The burger was nice, but the Chicken kebab was cold, and the flatbread was raw, not just a little but really raw. We sent the flatbread back and waited another 5 minutes for a fresh flatbread which again came to the table raw in the middle. The menu also stated Tzatziki but came with Hummus which wasn't pleasant to eat. Overall it was disappointing, I think they need to start thinking of hiring more staff on busy days of the week especially with Christmas around the corner. We both said we won't be returning again for food which is a shame since Millers has always been known for their great customer service and good food."
