A lovely relaxed village pub, great food, friendly staff, lovely location, peaceful, great views.

Such a treat to have a vegetarian/vegan choice. It is very rare to find in a pub and much appreciated.

the workers here try to offer great choice for vegans, with a separate menu and they work on the drinks. many different dishes and eating was good. we say that the menu will change from time to time, so would definitely go back Ver carta

four of us had lunch in the black horse. one of our 4 is very picky and critical, so I was understandable! but he and the other 3 of our party loved eating and the service of ben. we would recommend 100% to go, the boar bell amazing as the suppe (kartoffel and cocosnuss excellent.

Great value. Excellent service and probably the best steak and ale pie I’ve ever had! Views out the back are superb. Only improvement would be a little music in the background (maybe there normally is) and more thought to the lighting and finish inside the building. We would definitely go back again.

I had a vegan butternut squash tagine which was disappointing. It was basically tinned tomatoes with a few bits of veg and some curry powder in it and was swimming in liquid. My friend ordered a pie and asked for some extra gravy but it took so long to arrive she had finished her meal. Just very disappointing. Ver carta

the black horse is an untouched old pub with open fire in the bar. it is always very welcoming and we had a very nice meal with friends in this week. all our main courses were delicious and beautifully presented and the service was excellent. it is worth trying if it wasn't much more reliable than many other pubs in the opposite.

I'm sorry that eating wasn't good, the kartoffels were not real kartoffels, the suppe didn't taste like kartoffeln n leek we saw someone back into the kitchen with a full tescos bag, not good but the staff was friendly a big group came with dogs in the resturant contrary, some people would not like this, but it didn't disturb us back

beautiful location with view. three options for vegans, the curry that we were both chosen was from the menu when we ordered. we then chose the tagine, which was small and tasteless and inspiring. one of us went for the fungus starter that could upgrade to a vegan feta and a net size. they calculated £13.90 for two field mushrooms, an salat garnish and some vegan cheese, we were robbed. when is the standard all in order with their meal times? I answered, it is tasteless and there is simply not enough food, we ordered a bowl chips to calm our hunger, no reduction was offered to the price, just an apology of our very good waitress that she did very best when in the opposite, they try the white...
