Always wonderfully looked after quality fo food was excellent and it was very busy for a Thursday lunch time, but gave it good ambience.

very good service. log fire, very warm and great atmosphere. only hiccup was that maic was not available, and diner was not informed before chips were served. but still delicious.

New menu is a disappointment. No chicken dishes on the menu and some of their previous best dishes all replaced with cheaper alternates that can give them more profit margin. Not what it used to be.

Menu was interesting, good was good and well cooked/hot. It was very busy so food took a little longer than I might have liked to arrive but it was ok as atmosphere made up for it. The 50% off main courses January offer was well worth having (register in advance for it)

Went there for Sunday dinner around 4.30PM as never eaten there before. Was told there was no roast beef left which can happen so the three of us went for roast chicken. After a delay of around 30 minutes between starters and the main arriving the amount of chicken was rediculous. It was half a chicken breast each and a tiny drumstick. My wife complained and they apologised and said there was no chicken left. They offered her some pork which she accepted. This wasn't great but they did not even ask if the other two people who also had minimal chicken wanted more meat. They should have come clean and said there was not sufficient chicken for 3 meals and maybe offered chicken for one and alter...

we went for Sunday lunch after reading a lot of great reviews we arrived 15 minutes early and understandably he was not ready for table. it was really busy, we were shown the cash and would be called if ready 30 minutes later we had to ask again and was taken 1 minute, 10 minutes later we were taken to our sitting. again we had to wait a time until our order is taken. After we had received our starters after 30 minutes, we had to wait again for our head, which we followed with the waiter, who said we would see each other. a table of about 12 had been sitting after us quite a bit of lime and eating there and then getting their meals before us. that was the last stray, because we had not recei...
